body side moldigs?

i have noticed that many other IROCs have these body side moldings that run vertically along from the fender, door, and the quarters. my 87 IROC doesnt have these moldings and i am about to buy used IROC fenders that have them. can they be shaved off, are they seperate from the fenders? or are they built into the sheet metal?

if i were to take off these moldings, would the sheet metal be normal? or would i need body filler to fill in a gap?

its horizontal, not vertical

the metal will be fine underneath, might need some paint, they are held on by adhesive, yank off the molding, then just get the adhesive off and your set.

oh my bad ya i meant horizontal, also one other thing i noticed in the pic of the fender is that stripe?molding? that runs along the lower part of the fender, and would go along the lower door above the door ground effect, is that a stipe/decal or a molding?
im just trying to get some info on these cause my iroc has a plane silver paint job with stripes (not the original job) and every typical iroc i see has the iroc decal on the door, this stripe/molding thing running around from the front to the rear and the other molding running along the sides only.

the lower stripes are just decals, like tape i guess kinda
they are not a molding.

im just looking at this picture and wondering...please go to this site, i just bought the fenders and the side molding that i have been talking about, is it removed? then what is that darker colored streak where the molding should be. from the quality of the pic, it looks like an indent to where the molding was attached.

the darker line IS the molding, it is still on there. that big fat blue line near the bottom, i havent a clue what that is. if its stripes, they arent at all like mine are on my IROC.
