Hmm...I just got an email from a guy who said he bought his buddy's 87, which had been converted from t-tops to 'vert. I don't know if he knows who did the conversion, or his name on here..but if you're seriously interested, drop me an email and I'll try and find out. I'm on LI...I see you're in NY too.

i'm pretty sure if you want to do up a vert, you need to start with a ttop car- they had more bracing supposedly, and those were the cars that were converted from the factory

Convertible parts are incredibly expensive. Lots of work to switch to a vert. Believe me...
I bought 2 wrecked verts just to get the parts I needed - all the way down to the flat wheel wells so your top will store.
well I figured even tho its a t-top iroc, it would be worth it first point were
the verts have the highest values. second of all is that I've always wanted a
vert. Their just cooler and being an iroc vert, it would just be kick azz.
yea totally, i would like to find out where they mite have a conversion kit!
any help would be appreciated.

i really honstely haven't seen anything along the lines of a kit to convert to a vert. There is a lot of re fabrication that has to take place in the back, its not just a cut and weld modification.
seriously, and with the cost of any kit, you woul dbe better off find yoruself a factory vert.

No question..if what you really want is a vert...sell the Z, and put the money towards a vert. You'll save yourself a lot in the long run.

ive dropped soo much money and time into that car already I dont think i want to sell it, I've decided its a keeper. So i really wouldnt mind sinking some more time and money into her. So any info on how to do it, kits, parts, ect. would be really appreciated

yesterday i picked up a converible body and interior
minus an engine a door and a fender and bumper covers and hood... for 400$
clean title... its a 1990 rs...
i have all the body stuff for it already, so itll make a nice project... but if you want a convertible, look in junkyards for a convertible body... even one without doors or interior, then you can transfer everything off your z, although ripping up a nice car is sad.... thats why i have a couple parts cars...
but in the early 80s there were some shops that did camaro convertible conversions... so it is possible, although no doub expensive, because of the different trunk and stuff.
