Try the inspection thing first. Most of the guys there don't know that 86 was the first year for the light and will assume that if you don't have it, then you're car didn't come with it. If it fails inspection, you have what, 30 or 45 days to comply? I'd try the inspection first.

I've posted a 91-92 Z28 third brake light forsale in the classifieds and is still forsale if your interested. You will have to splice into your brake light wires. Not sure how you could attach it on the inside of your back hatch glass. Maybe you could use the stuff that holds rear-view mirrors on to hold it???? I would ask a automoitve glass shop to see what they might say......let me know if your interested in it.....again....it's on the classifieds...

why not just install some $10 aftermarket 3rd brake light and glue it to the hatch to get through inspection, until you can get the real camaro one set up?

i just figured it out that black part i was talking about isnt the defroster its just part of the sunshade so i could just scrape that away nd not have to get the whole new hatch glass so all im guessing i would need is the wiring harness and the light to hook it up nd some addesive to attach it to the glass...........thats how they are attached normally right?
