Electric Fuel Pressure Gauge reads 100 psi

I finally installed my Electric Fuel Pressure gauge from AutoMeter today. I turned the car on, and the gauge immediately jumps to 100 psi an stays there. Everything else seems to be working, the light comes on when it is supposed to. Any ideas? I'm still running the stock pump and regulator... it can't really be that high. I think around 45 psi would be more realistic right?

shouldn't be that high, are you sure you have your gauge hooked up right? if so, try putting an auxillary fuel pressure gauge on it to double check. if it agrees with your new gauge, then wonder why your fuel system is holding together and get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and turn that crap down before ya blow something!

hmmmmm.....I wonder what it can be Mike? HAHA....I tryed to help (leftturnLE) run the guages....and it is crazy. Everything seems to be hooked up right.....the ground is tight and the power has a good connection. Was the fuel pressure guage hard to hook up? I mean.....if you wanted me to drop by this weekend, maybe we could take it completely off and re-run it.....

It's definitely hooked up right. It's pretty much idiot-proof.... the control module is color coded and there's even a picture of how to hook everything in the directions. Maybe the gauge wasn't calibrated right from Auto Meter. I'll give them a call sometime today or tomorrow I guess. I do have an AFPR sitting here waiting to install, but I want to get the gauge working first so I can set the regulator.

I'd grab a mechanical FP gauge and use that to set the pressure.
Then hook the Autometer one back up and use that to monitor the pressure.

Well, I made a stupid mistake. That always happens when you work on something too long and get tired. Anyway, I think it works now, but the pressure seems a little low.

Ignition on = about 42 psi
Engine running at idle = about 35 psi
Engine running with throttle = about 40 psi

hey, been there, done that, stole the hat, bought the t-shirt! i wouldn't stress the pressure readings if your car is running good. you already said you were putting an AFPR on her anyway, and that will change those variables...

Haha he has not been on since 2004 probably should of looked into it. But my thinking was the answer now is the same as it was five years ago. And my Autometer FP gauge has never worked right since I got it. Thats what you get for buying used stuff I guess.
