Need a new door handle

The little metal wire on the under side of the handle on the drivers side was hanging down the other day. I then went to see if i could fix it, well no. The metal clips that are molded into the handle had broken so now i need a new one and maybe some help on how to install it. So were should i go for one and whats involved in changing it? I will be going home this weekend so i know i can grab one off of a yard pretty easy depending on whats involved.

I'm not looking for a custom bit that requires body work, i just want to replace the one handle. I know that third gen resource has em used for $10 so ill probably get em through there, but now i am just wondering what exactly is involved in changing it.

Yep, they are carried on the shelf in the HELP sections around here as well. I've had to replace one for exactly the reason you described. It would have been nice to go with a new OEM piece instead of what is more than likely inferior, but you can't beat the price and convinience. Never had any problems with the new one.

Ok but still what is involved in replacing em? Does the interior of the door have to come out?

Take off interior door panel, 2 10mm nuts hold the handle on. Not hard at all.

but when you take off the panel be careful not to pull out the little white plastic i don't know what they are called but they hold the panel onto the door if you rip those off/out and break them you'll have to go but replacements or your door panel won't go back on right.

I know, i have taken door panels off of a few 90's GM cars and out of my old bmw and those little plastic bits are not fun. They'll brake just because they want to.

I always use two small putty knives to take the door panels off. I slide them up to either side of the plastic retainers or whatever they are called and twist them to pry it out of the door.
