hey guys, this one goes out to pretty much anyone over 30 with a third gen, im only 17 and wasnt around during this era, but neways, i was looking through some old car magazines, march 1986 car craft to be exact, and i saw an add near the back for a trans am body kit. It's made by DGP (diversified glass products) it had really wide fender flares, etc. I really liked it so i researched it on the net and over thirdgen.org but to no avail. Now i turn to you to help me, anyone know of this company, if they still exist, if they changed names, or if anyone makes this style body kit. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance...

is this it?
that's definately not it. that is for 82-84 z28's, not trans am. plus he said it was made by diversified glass products, while i believe ascd has always been called ascdOriginally posted by 82suped-up-coupe

yeah, thats definately not it, as diabolical reiterated, the DGP one is for a trans am, but thanks for the response none the less. I guess ill try to describe it a bit better. The exact description from the magazine was this, if this helps any: The ultimate in fibreglass panels for the new Firebird Trans Am. We offer a complete "street" package of full flared flenders, front and rear spoilers, and more.
As far as i can tell from the picture, it is pretty much the stock gfx for the 85-90 trans ams, with really wide fenderflares. I guess if thats what i was looking for, it would prob just be easier to have the flares custom made, but i was just curious what the rest of the body kit looked like, if any had it, or knew where it could be found, once again, any input is appreciated, thanks

A lot of glass companies come and go. DGP is probably long gone. Unless you can find someone with the original molds, you're probably better off going with someone reputable like ASCD and modifing what the have to fit the T/A. There is a lot of info on the web about doing fiberglass mods.

That's pretty brutal IMO. I would rather spend money on the motor or something than getting gross huge fenders....

I think that's nasty. Body kits are generally retarded. The car is wide enough.

I found this thread while looking through old pictures I have. I have been in touch with the owners of DGP over the last 8 years and own one of the other cars in back of the magazines back then. It is the 1984 Fiero they built. I also have a handful of the original pictures of this Trans Am that was being discussed. I figured I would put up a few pictures. I was hoping to find this Trans Am for a meeting of the cars again but nothing is on the radar that I see for it. Again I own the Fiero they built and have plenty of history on the company. Thanks Rick B

That Fiero looks incredible.
That's what you get when you keep the lines of the car to make a body kit.

One note, my Fiero was also stated as being one of the 1st Fieros they tested T-tops on at C&C technologies. This is why you see the early pictures with Judy Landers the car has a Sun Roof. It was a barn find also and I had to have the front redone as they messed it up trying to pull it out. The paint was faded badly on the front also and is still orange peeled on the top and rear. They said they painted it to last a few years for show only. They didn't think it would survive much longer than that. I documented and photographed everything done to the car. It also was invited to the GM museum car coral in 2008 and another hard bound book was made featuring this car. Video I took is below and notice my car is the only one with a license plate. Rick B
