wrecked my car

I was driving home from work on fathers day and someone did a u turn 20 feet in front of my car. I locked them up pretty hard but I didn't help much. The body shop said that its totalled, so I'm gonna be selling parts off of it. The interior is good and from the firewall back is fine. If you are interested in any parts email me at circus_reject@hotmail.com

If you want to check out other pictures of the car go to:

Got the estimate today from the bodyshop 5,355.80 dollars worth of damages. The insurance company is saying I only get 500 for the wreck. Next time I'm gonna have full coverage. I would like to advise any of you with PLPD, if you love your car dont make the same mistake I did.

have you try to file a claim on the other driver's ins, I would, and you would get alot more than $500, esp. since it wasn't your fault. Make them pay for the damage's or at least get a fair price for your ride. Just a tip

not sure what state ur in but at least as far as I know in Michigan being a no-fault state, you dont get anything from the other persons insurance, but you CAN however file a claim in small claim's court for object inside the car, radio, airbag, cd's,any upgrades and such,
good luck with what ever happens.....
craig
(I could be wroung on the above info...i dont think so but....

I believe you should be getting more than $500. The other driver was at fault and the other driver's insurance should give you a fair market value for your car. You'll probably have an oppurtunity to buy the car back from the insurance company.

Kelly's blue blue or something like that is on the web and you can get an estimate for the car.

Good luck.

If all the damage is limited to the front end and the frame is straight you might be able to put it back together yourself. Most of the cost is probably labor and paint. Of course it would become a major hobby.

Sorry to hear/see what happened.I also agree with copperhead.Buy the TA back and go to a junkyard and get a whole front end, probably $500-800 at the most.

Wow that is horrible What is it lately with all these 3rd gens crashing Sorry for your loss. If the other person is at fault why would you have to pay anything for repair? When my car was hit I didn't pay a nickel in repairs. My monthly rate wasn't even affected because I wasn't at fault.

Who's insurance company is telling you that you can only get 500. If the accedient is the other guys responsibility, then there insurance company must fix your car, if thats what you want. Play a waiting game with the insurance company and don't except anything from them until they decide to cover the total cost of repair.

But from seeing the picture of the accident, you car may cost more then $5,355.80 to fix. Orginal new parts for these cars are very expensive.

I'm in Mass, so maybe the laws are different... ?

I got hit from behind in my '84 Z-28... totaled the car (didn't look like it but the hood wouldn't even shut right... sigh) and their insurance didn't even ask what happened! They had an "adjuster" come over and check the car out, and we gave him the guilt trip "I was restoring it, I was almost done... " and I showed him my receipts and such... he got me $3000 and I was able to keep my car!

As long as it was their fault, you can get the car fixed (as long as it does not exceed the value of the car, obviously more than $500!!!!) or get cold, hard, cash.
