Wanted: Auto Shifter indicator pics
I'm looking for CAMARO pics of the Automatic Shifter indicator.
In specific, the different styles throughout the year (82-92), to see the different indicator styles (Numbers, Indicator itself to tell you what gear you are in)
Thanks very much, and please be sure to mention what year Camaro, and what engine this is for.
Thanks.

off the top of my head, I can think of 4. The 82-83 style with the 3 speed automatic. the 82-87 style with the big numbers, inwhich the display was still lite as a whole. the 88-89 style with the color coded indicator and lighted letters as opposed to whole backing. and the 90-92 style with yellow letters and red indicator. I only have pics of mine and I could post it if you would like...

I know that in 83-84 the 4-speed auto plate looked like this:
P
R
N
D
3
2
1
later it changed to:
P
R
N
OD (d inside of o)
D
2
1
This is the one that I took out of an 86 SC...

I am not sure about camaro's but the Firebird did not have a real "indicator" until 1990, then it actually worked.

Electroluminescent tape and a power inverter.. thats pretty much it. You have to break your console and then glue it back together to make it work though.

You actually broke your console just to get the light Blue? And glued it back together?...I pulled mine out and painted the Letters the same as the car, so the show thru as red, they turned out nice..But I did,nt have to break anything......
