Need HELP FAST!!

I live in Illinois and it has been raining here for the past 2 days. I went out to the car to run up to the gas station, I got in started it, put it in drive, went up to the neigbors driveway to turn around, and when I went to stop and put it in reverse I heard water sloshing around. So I pulled up in front of my house and went around to the passenger door and oppened it. I the moved it back and forth like i was closing and oppening it. I heard water!

So now my passenger door has water on the inside of it. What do I do!? Can I just take the door panel off and use a shop vac to suck up all the water? I've got power windows too.

put it in your garage, remove door panel, suck out water, install new weatherstripping, check that your "elements" barrier is in place (should be a sheet of plastic in there to keep water lke that from rottting the door panels), and ultimately - check that your windows are all the way up. mine look like they're up, but there's another 1/8" for them to travel so i have to tap the switch again once its up

You will never keep all the water out of the door, that is why they have a "water management" system. The window seals divert water away from the inside, but it will NOT totally seal it. That is why you should have the barrier stuck to the inside of the door under the panel, and drain holes at the bottom of the door for the water to drain out.
There are four drain holes, one on each end and two in the middle, they are probably clogged up.

easier way to fix this. just unclog your drain whols on the botom corners of the door. then the water will drain out.

yes it does suck when it rains for like 3 days strait, i have t tops that insist on leaking and have not had time to put new seals in. oh well.

good luck
anthony

edit: hate it when someone gets a reply in while i am type it in

Yeah I was wondering if there were drain holes. Is the door panel pretty easy to take off? Never done one on a third gen.

the door panel is not hard, just be carfull prying around the push ins and be sure the window is down when you take it off because the panel has to slide up to free the top plastic trim. but why do that. just take a screw driver and pry the debris out of the drain, but if that does not work, push it up into the drain that will clear it for the water to come out.

good luck

I pulled out the rubber plugs underneath the door. man the water flowed out of there like no tomorow. now there is no water! noticed that both my doors have a little rust underneath. hope nothing to bad.
