incase ya didnt catch it... First pic = rust...
Second Pic = no rust

I sanded it all down with a palm sander... i then realized the palm sander was **** and i decided to use an angle grinder with a Flap Disc.....

Flap Disc's are the ****!

Next, after i sanded all the pivits out and featherd out the sanding to match the lines of the wheel well, i applied heavy coats of Naval Jelly (its a rust proofing Product) on the area and then i rinsed it off...

Next i applied 3 coats of Rustoleum Primer (Grey) and i let that sit and cure for a day.

The next day i sanded the primer and applied 5 coats of Duplicolor Canyon Red and let that set for 3 hours and then i applied 2 cans of Duplicolor Clear Acrylic.

I let that sit for a day and then i sanded the area with 1500g wet sand. Then i washed the area and Applied some rubbing compound and an orbital Polisher.

that is the afterproduct..

which by the way is about 4 months old and i am seeing no pitting or signs of rust.

You used a rattle can for that? It looks real good.

In case your unaware....

Rattle cans are just the exact same principle of a pnumatic sprayer....

Compressed air pushing the paint through the nossle. If you know how to do it you can make it look excellent.

just be patient, slow, steady and even.... i plan on painting my entire car, by myself, with rattle cans....

I helped a friend when he was prepping his van for a respray and he did the whole thing with just cans. It was a pretty cheap van and hence not worth spending real cash on it but I was very impressed with how well he go it to turn out.

i rattle canned my rear bumper after sanding it down to bare fiberglass...turned out really really well, you can't tell it's been touched other that the paint is a slight different color....black car go figure, since black is one of the hardest colors to match up due to sun fade.

Youll have to wait till i get a digital camera to get better updated pics..

There is absolutly no sign of it coming back.

Yes, i am dead serious about doing it with spray cans... and if you know how to use them its just as good as using a sprayer from a compressor......
