When my heather stops working I usually use a little Miracle Grow.

No, just kidding, I know English isn't your first language.

Heather = a type of plant.
Heater = what you're talking about.

replace your thermostat about a 4 dollar part and about a 10-30 minute job depending on skill

you'll probably notice your car running a little better and the coolant temperature may be lower as well

Is their water/anitfreeze on your passenger side floor board?

You could have lost vacume to the flapper doors, and its not routing the air over your heater coil.

I know on the v6 models (not sure on v8's) you have a bypass valve under the hood that diverts the coolent away from the heatercore when your not using it.

Your cable could have come loose from the back side of the selector switch.

yep sounds like a vacumm problme or the vavle that controls the heater controls are gone. i would almost guess that you t stat is ok. get the vents working properly first and check that diverter valve in the heater hose in line with you heater core. may not be opening.

Nah, heather's not a plant, she's a girl!

Actually, it is a common problem to have air blow out the top of the dash, instead of where we want it to. That is usually caused by a vacuum leak on the back of the sliding heater/air conditioning controls. There are a lot of tubes on the back of that control panel, any one of which can be leaking (and make a hissing sound). Check for that.

However, it sounds like you might have another problem as well. You said that the air is always cold? If so, does the sliding handle to adjust the heater temperature feel the same as it always has? If it feels different, there may be a problem in the cable attached to it and it is not operating the valve over the passenger's feet correctly.

Just some more things to look into...
