plastic key

chevrolet gave me this plastic card with a key in the middle that im supposed to cut into the shape of my keys. but it doesnt have the vats it looks like and so im wondering what its use full. anyone have it and try to use it before?

I have a similar card. I will have to take a picture. Mine reads "VIP PONTIAC". And "INSTRUCTIONS: Bend key out for cutting & use. DO NOT SEPARATE FROM CARD. Bend key back into card for storage. Keep in safe place. FOR EMERGENCY USE ONLY. Pontiac Customer Assistance Center: 1-800-762-2737."

u know if its supposed to be a door key or ignition? and anyway neither ones gona be usefull without the other since most people have the two together if theyre lost. good job gm.

Its meant to be cut to match your door key, you keep it in your wallet, that way when you get out and lock your keys in the car you have a door key to get back in with you.

You can get one easily from AAA for ~$5 dollars. It Comes in very useful for when we lock our keys in the car.

hit the nail right on the head.. I have 2 door keys for my car on my at ALL times......my left and right arm. its takes about 5 seconds to pull the window out and reach in and unlock the door.it takes about 2 hours to get the the window back to here it use yo be so it seals again
