I just put the LED's in, and MAN! are they better than the old bulbs? Much crisper look, and bright as hell when you look directly at them! One thing though, my blinkers don't work now. I expected some kind of problem, does anyone know how this can be remedied?
I took pics, but they don't do them justice though. Plus it's kinda dark in the pics. I'm going to take more pics come morning.

yes that is a typical problem when u switch the the L.E.D bulbs is that the signal lights dont work, u either have to replace the flashers in your car with ones that will work for led bulbs(go to any automotive store they should know what u need) or u can get a load resistor that goes in line with one of the turn signal bulb wires

im no expert but im thinking you need a "load resistor kit" your car thinks theres no or a burnt out bulb in your sockets.
look almost to the bottom of this page and youll see what im taking about......

maybe theres a cheaper way to build your own, but im not electonics expert either.

That looks real good if I had a black/ or dark I would do that in a heart beat. Well I would get hassled by the cops here in GA for it.
Whats it look like close up to the edges.

I just uploaded a few more pics with the LEDs installed. They're at the bottom of the page.

I bought an electronic flasher to use with the LEDs. Does anyone know if this will work? Or do I need a thermal one?

Man, I'm glad you figured out what you wanted to do, that looks great!
How did you attach them? Velcro, glue? I'm kinda curious cause you gave me an idea.

The blackout has a 45, or so, degree bend at the top, and it attaches to the top of the tail lights with 2 screws. I like this way, because you can't see the mounting hardware from the outside.

Thats cool, I figured you had some sort of tab on the top or bottom maybe.
I was kinda thinking of doing something like that except keep the red and clear lenses underneath. Maybe even painting a grid on it. I like how it is flat and smooth with no seams, and no lock hole. That is sweet as hell.

yeah, I'm going to put the red reflectors back on when i get another tail light set. One of mine fell off before the blackout was installed.

When I got my blackouts,I took the red reflectors and used silicone sealant and used 1 screw per reflector and wah-lah...street legal!

Yeah, I'm just relying on the electric release. When I start to tear the car down this Spring for the LT1 swap, I'll probably relocate the key hole to another location. I'm thinking just above the license plate, out of sight. I'm just thinking though....so it probably won't get done. Ya never know though.

hey guys..i know where i can get gts taillight covers that are true blackouts and not just a fogged up lens look, but what about those headlight covers....if you could just point me to a site that sells both of them. I bought a pair of taillight blackouts for my 89 rs once but they weren't dark at all so i sent them back. Let me know!!

also...anyon put any dash trim kits into their car? chrome, or even the dark/light blue one. Im going for the black/blue theme for my car on the interior and was just wondering if the blue looked good, or even the chrome
