Can anyone help me with the 180mph DIY white face gauge overlays?

I saved this awhile back, it's modified to read to 180mph... I can't recall who did it, but I saved it and I can't get it to print at the size to fit my gauges... and does this look like it's for camaro or firebird gauges? Any help would be great.... and if it doesn't fit my car, at least some of you might get use out of it...

you could try to use paint. ( i know i know, paint is shotty but this might work.) Open the pic and then use Sketch/Skew. Try to get it close if you have a size like a stock one. Just trail and error until you get it close. It doesnt look like its the right shape so you might be out of luck there. Just tryin to help.

If you have photoshop crop the image to just outside the rim of the circle. Then when you print, theres an option of what size, in inches or pixels or whatever, to print to.

In photoshop you have to select the option to print with preview from the file drop down menu and you get this window where it allows you to change the size of the print.

it looks cool, but i dont think the mechanical limits of the needle on the firebirds will allow it to go that far down. the needle maxes out a little after the top speed on the speedo.

Wouldn't the ration between numbers in 10's ( ie 10 - 20, 80 - 90) be slightly off since you'd be cramming 18 numbers (180) in a 14 number (140) gauge.

I don't know. Don't mean to shoot your idea down. Sorry.

It looks like that ratio is the same if you originaly had a 140 speedo, so it should still be accurate. It just keeps going after 140. But I have noticed that the mechanical limits are at 145 also on the needle. Basically, it would just be for looks in my opinion unless you can some how get around the mechanical limit problem. Anybody know what you would print this on if you wanted it to match the other gauges?

you dont modify the pic

you need to set the dots per inch.

lets PRETEND it was 3000 pixles wide.

at 300DPI (dots per inch) it prints out 10" long

at 600DPI it prints as 5" long...

ect...

common sizes are 150, 300, and 600dpi.

alot of people have MS photo editor.... it comes with office....

then you get a lil window.... here the pixles per inch (same as dots per inch) is 96.... you can set it to what you need, then print it.

btw the pics are black and white low quality for quicker loading...
