Has anyone tried these gauges?
These are the Nordskog digital gauges. Im seriously considering picking up a set. Has anyone used these or have any horror stories? Does anyone have them in other colors?

Was never a fan of the digital dash, I love seeing those needles get buried. ohhhh yes. However the gages such as engine temp, and oil pressure. Wouldn't mind seeing a couple of those. What's a good place to get digi gages for the little stuff??
Nordskog used to be Intellitronix, which way before that was Cyberdyne (yes, like in Terminator, lol).
Im not sure why the company has changed hands so many times, hopefully not because its pure crap that they are selling. If i was going digital though, id get them instead of the Dokota Digital stuff... I like the illuminating LED's around the circumference of the gauges... It gives it a quasi-analog feel.

The digital gauges that came in the GTAs are neat and stuff.. but they get old in my opinion. One of those things that's fun to look at, but the "fun factor" wears off.
The RPM gauge on that one would just make me mad though... look how big the jumps are in the light up parts in the circle. It does not appreat to have numbers beside it either... so it's almost useless till you get to know it real well.. and even then it wouldn't be accurate.. you'd have to be reading the numbers all the time.
Assuming each bar lights up seperatly and not in parts (~21 bars on each)....
"0-9900 rpm digital tachometer in 100 rpm increments with LED bar graph."
...each bar is almost a 500 rpm incriment. I would imagine they mean 100rpm incriments is the four numbers in the middle.
"300 mph digital speedometer with LED bar graph, odometer with trip"
...each bar is ~15mph incriment.
Also the tach would only rev.. what .. half way at most with a stock motor? The speedo would only go half way around maybe.
Just some stuff to think about.. unless you can get it changed. I don't really know about it so I can't say.. just some quick observations. I could be completely wrong.

Well I got the gauges after all, had them for a while, looked at them, never installed them and then realized that I just spent $480 on a cluster just so I could have a functioning gas gauge. Take into consideration that i've not finished my engine mods, it would be foolish of me to be so frivilous. I sent it back to summit and picked up a Flowmaster American Thunder Cat back exhaust system for about 340. With the additional cheddar, I picked up a set of lingenfelter/accel runners from a guy here on TGO for $150.. thanks again Rob!
Just won a fuel gauge on e-bay for $12, hopefully this will alleviate the problem. I'll leave the gauge swap for another day.

I hate digital dash. If your gonna put like a volt meter, or oil pressure thats one thing, I love watching the tach raise, and the speedo climb. I had a digital dash in my first ever car, 1984 New Yorker. Everytime I see the digi dash i just get reminded of how the numbers jump. Nothign is smooth. If your gunnin her, the speedo goes like 10-17-23-28-35-42-54 like that, looks like crap in opinion

... yet, i'd have to say that i like regular style gauges better....
i'm also not comfortable with the idea of a cop pulling up next to me and being able to see what my speedometer is actually reading...
the popo can see into your car that much? what is it.. glass?... sheish.. he'd have to have like.. xray vision to see thru the door panel, & then thru the steering wheel... or.. he'd just get a quick wannabe peek....
either way, i thought of those digital guages.. but i raelized.. oh.. shiz.. they don't really match up w/ our car's designs... so i was like.. "no thx there".
plus.. you can never beat a needle.

I prefer needles because you don't have to look directly at it to know whats going on... when you are looking at the road, you can see out of the corner of your eye where the speedo and tach are. Digital guages you have to actually look down at and read. I'm not a big fan of reading, myself.
