Another electric hatch release question, need some help!

So I've gotten everything that is needed in order to put an electric hatch release in my 92 vert, the switch, relay, and selonoid. I go into my trunk, and try to figure out how the selonoid fits on the latch mechanism, but I could not figure it out for the life of me. There is no pull down motor by the way. I searched around and found a couple pictures of what I'm tryin to do, and it seems like my latch mechanism is different from those that I've seen. Was there a difference in these throughout the years, because mine definately isn't the same from the picture I found on here. Do I have to get another latch mechanism in order for this to work? Or does anyone have any other ideas/advise? I just want to get this thing to work so I can quit havin to get my keys out all the time. I can go take a picture of it later on if that would help any. Any help is appreciated, and thanx in advance!

Corey

there shouldnt be any difference in the actual latch.. your selonoid should bolt on with one bolt.. the same one that the ground will hook to.. it will seem like it isnt right when you first put it on but once it is tightned down it will be right and you will know what i mean.. if you do have the pic of the seloniod and your hatch relase that is in there that would help further...

Here is a picture of my latch how it is now:

And here's one with the selonoid help up right below where it should go:

And here's one that's a little further back:

It just seems like there's a different latch, but I might be wrong. If you line up the bolt and the hole in the selonoid, there's no way it would work. Hope this clears it up some.

I fixed the pictures. (hopefully)
I was looking on ebay and found This
The end of it looks more like it would fit, but hopefully the one I have will work.

I highley recommend you keep your standard hatch release...my electric one was such a pain in the *** that when it finally misthreaded its own gears i had to wire my hatch shut with a telephone cable. So i just removed the hatch release motor assembly and welded the slide assembly in place...thus making my own manual hatch release...much better IMO!

they way it looks it you have the right remote release... the linkyou had to the other one is for a hatch that has the electric pull down and it wont fit on yours unless you put the pull down in yours. ill have to look at one to see how it lines up again with what you have.

The solenoid you have looks just like mine. I have an 82 T/A and no power pull down was available then. The solenoid would bolt right up to my car.

But the whole black plate and other thing you already have on your car looks totally different than mine. Perhaps it's a convertible only thing?
