Finally! 91-92 Reverse Guages!
I just jumped on the procarparts.com website and while searching discovered they are now selling 1991-1991 IROC (IROC? Ah well) reverse guages.
http://216.59.137.51/store-detail.as...91CM%2D7100RGX
Has anyone here bought these?? Could you post daytime and nighttime pics?
What are you comments on it? The needles, can you view them easily at night?
Personally I WISH they made them for 240KM / 140MPH
us canadians have KM! :-(
Also, I would personally KILL if they made it look like these:
http://216.59.137.51/store-detail.as...82FB%2D1278RGX
The blue and silver background, and especially the unique looking guage readings.

hey those look familiar.....
haven't been able to drive them at night. cuz my car isn't complete yet. I think you'd be able to see the shadow of the needles casted upon the gauges, I spliced into the gauge wiring for these overlays and now none of those bulbs work, I just have to hook up the ground, but if they did, it would still light up back there. you could take them all out, and replace them with colored LED's if you want, blue in my case, which I think would give it a bluish hint as the needs glow from light behind it, if you could make them clear instead of that ugly yellow it would be great, maybe just the surface is that color I dont know, I haven't tried to sand it any.
but it does look sweet for the gauge readings, very bright,
cheers

They should offer both donut version AND the non donut version.. Can't see it being that difficult to do without it.

Cause the have the two pieces; Speedo and Tach on opposite sides. The left is the Tach (with the Service Engine Light Soon) and the Speedo on the right.

..if I put some green led's behind them..will they still light up blue or will they light up green?

These aren't just regular white overlay's. They are indi-glo ones. You can see this by looking at the middle overlay. You'll see the small tip on the top right side of the fasten tab. That is where the indi-glo connector connects to. They just have not shown the connector in the picture.
Lol!
I just glanced at the pic when I posted before . . . without even realizing that they swapped the speedo and tach to opposite sides . . . I just assumed. Lol. Sorry.
I'm not that big of a fan on reverse indiglo gauges. It's just something abut McEwan White Face Overlays and those needles that glow that someone posted a lont time ago (Like on new civic's and such). I think that is the combo I would go with.

Oh that is magical...the TA ones only have a 120mph speedo. Worthless IMO. It would be beter if they had a 140 or 160 mph set...then I'd ****** em up.

I would suggest you email them with all your questions before purchasing them. Let us know what they said. They have NEVER replied to anything I emailed them so best of luck.

they're are three overlay pieces, each piece is connected to the module or transformer deal with little wires, these arn't trasparent. so I belive if you had led's mounted in your actual STOCK dash to make the needles glow a certain color, these are two thick to allow anylight to come through, if it does a little bit, you could always take some model pain and a brush and go over your stock gauges if need be, or just put a piece of black construction paper behind them. you cannot bend those tabs which have the wires on them, because that can ruin the connection. it also has a **** and switch. **** for brightness and switch for color change from green to blue. I think I'm just going to mount this down by my fuse box panel as I dont think I will be adjusting it that often, I simply just spliced into the wiring of the stock dash lights, and there you go.

So you can change the numbers from blue to green? Sweet then I wouldn't even need to buy led's . Blake which ones did you get, cause ur's look like the link to the silver ones but without all the crap that on the other white ones...

no there white, but its just the material its made out of that might give it that look of silver in a picture, but in reality you know its just the texture. its a small difference in color, more of an indiglo blueish green rather than green. the blue is good though.
I cant take a night shot with my digital camara cuz the flash goes out or else I woudl take one for you, I'll try again for ya though
cheers

I would strongly suggest putting the black construction paper in to hide the yellow light. I have the Indiglow gauges in my car and if I turn the color all the way up, you drown out your factory light while retaining the lit needles. But if you turn it down because it is a little bright, you can see the light seeping out. Some people say to take out the bulbs but good luck seeing the needles good at night time. I will probably get some of the halo reverse because I have been waiting a long time to get these!
Installation consists of pulling out your speedo and placing these over them. The top, left and right piece will have a wire coming off them that you plug into a long wire with 4 connections. You will only use three. That long wire is connected to the brain or it could be the resistor? Anyways, hide that. Ground your ground wire, take power from somewhere (Me and 88txiroc took power from my a/c lighting......oh and make sure you take power from somewhere that only turns on when you turn on your headlights!
) and mount the inverter. I just got the analog one that controls how bright the lights get and switches from blue to green. That's basically it in a nutshell.

If you look at the gauges in those links, whether you get halo or just plain reverse style, they have a lot of black in them. If you don't keep your stock bulbs intact, your gauge needles will not light up and you won't be able to tell how fast you're going at night time. The gauges are only overlays and have nothing to do with the stock lighting. Which means you need to keep the stock lighting going if you want to see the needles. Now if you keep the stock lighting, I was just saying to stick some black construction paper or something over the stock gauges and underneath the overlays. This way, the lighting doesn't leak thru on the new overlays. Trust me, it looks like crap when you have these nice red and blue gauges with little bits of yellow light coming thru.

we need much better night pictures of these gauges as the ones shown as far too small and need to see them WITH the needles.

Here's what one would look like. Bad pic and they probably look a thousand times better in person.

If so, how did you remove the donuts? The night time image on the site shows they have the center donut on each.

He put blue leds behind his cluster in the first link. These would look similar.

That gauge cluster is fricking awesome! Have you ever had a girl get in your car and be like "Your car can go to 240?!" That's soooo fast!
I need a kilometer gauge. Damn your temp gauge is even in Celsius! Americans are wierd. I don't know why we don't go to the metric system.
I'm sorry dude but I doubt anyone makes anything for that.

Coolness
The silver ones with out the donut are awesome lookin in the dark. Do you know if they have and overlay for the auto trans?? That way the blue matches is through out.
Anybody found of reverse halo that reads 140mph??? In the case of glow gauges, donuts are not a good thing (IMO).
