installing 4th gen dash

ok i started my install tonight, actualy got the 3rd gen dash out and man it was a bitch. maybe its just because ive never done it before and was going blind but hey gotta start somewhere. anyway tommarow everything should be ready to start going in and i got a friend coming over to hook up wiring harnesses while i do the physical install. anyway ive read up alot on the actual install and think i have a pretty good idea of what needs to be done but if anyone has tips or suggestions or even questions, please feal free to leave a post.

thanks to everyone here for all the info and writeups that WILL make this thing happen

Right on, just be sure to post pics of the aftermath! I know a lot of people will chant for a guide on how to do it. Honestly, after fitting mine in there, there's no need, I found it to be a rather simple procedure. HOWEVER, trimming the topmost pad part will require some time, patience, and accuracy. IHI suggests the windshield being removed for optimum results. I haven't gotten to this stage yet personally.

Seems reasonable enough, but I'm not certain yet

Similarly, that's a good idea too, bladz

Any pics? I'm in the middle of putting a 94 camaro dash in my firebird, any pics would be appreciated. Also, how do you hook up the tach and speedo?

tach is a white wire on both the third and 4th gen, hook it up then connect the black/wht 3rd gen to the black/wht 4th gen thats the tach ground wire. plug the rest of the black ground wires into the other black wire on the 4th gen harness.
as for the speedo its almost pointless, i got mine to work but its soo far off that i either have a bad connection or it just wont work till i get it calibrated.

ill have pictures up of it tommarow all i could get was night pics today. they probly wont help much but ill be glad to answer any questions, just IM me.
