ABS headliner install question
I am putting in my new headliner I got from classicindustries. it is abs with fabric over it. There are no clips to hold it up. I am wondering has anyone had any problems with this design? any and what mods had to be done? Thanks It is a T-Top car.
I don't think the ABS headliners need clips; they are held up by the sun visors in front and the seatbelt trim and rear headliner trim in the back.

I just got done installing one in my car. The only problem I had with mine is it didn't really hug the center part all that well. With the tops out you could see between the headliner and the center brace a little. I just used some double sided tape and that fixed the problem. I don't know what kind of inside light you have but I had to make the hole bigger to fit mine in there.

My car had a one-piece fiberglass headliner in there when I got it and it fits like total crap!
I wonder which aftermarket brand/vendor offers the best fit?

I got mine from hawks about 4 months ago, and it fit perfectly, no probs. I just had to cut extra holes cause my car has the overhead console in it. No biggie. looks good.

I got a hard top one from ThirdgenResource a few years ago and it fit pretty well, was a little short in the back but that's it and was hardly noticeable. And it didn't have any clips to secure it like the stock one did either. I got one for my new car with t-tops from 1aauto, haven't installed it yet, hoping it fits well.

That's sounds encouraging. Last thing I want is to find out (once I got it) that it fits like crap .... so there is no need for the 3 clips up front then? Wont it hang down in the middle (by the windshield) as there is nothing really holding it inplace in the middle. I have the standard small interior light and of course that will hold it in place to some extent but its in the middle of the roof.
Any pictures of a t-top version installed?

The ABS is strong enough that it holds itself up with the sun visor mounts, the dome light, and the seat belt guide thingies.
I'll try to take some pics tomorrow.

i got mine from a1auto off ebay saved a couple bucks that way. It fit fine i have the t top with a center roof consule so it stayed up with no problem, biggest thing i can tell you they say to lay it out for 24 hours to flatten since it is folded in box. Put something under the middle of liner to lift the ends off the floor. This way it curves in the oposite direction as much as possible. Mine had a crease that would not flatten untill i did that.
Other than that fit and install is great.

scott's85T/A: Thanks for the pictures, looks great. I hope the one I'm getting is from the same manufacturer but I would guess so. I think they drop ship out of CA.
I will pick mine up 2 weeks from know when I'm in Miami Beach (being shipped to my hotel) that way I do not have to pay for shipping it all the way to the United Kingdom and I can just bring it back home with me on the plane.
As soon as I got it and installed it I will post some pictures and comments as well. Currently have my car at the bodyshop for a complete repaint so this is the time to replace the headliner as the car is completly stripped.

No, No problems installing it. Just had to let it sit ou for 24 hrs so it could take form. Like I said the only thing I had to do is cut holes in it so my overhead console could be reinstalled. Other then that, it went in perfectly and fits perfect.
These are alot better made then the factory ones IMO cause of the ABS. Next project CARPET.
Hope that installs easy enough.
