Alright guys, the damned forum just messed up so I have to retype everything so if it comes on as a mess, just excuse it.

Alright guys, I am planning on getting rid of the fur headliner material, need everyone’s opinion on what material to use. There are a few conditions to this though,

- Can’t be any stock material
- Needs to be black or very dark
- Has to be liked by the majority


Alright guys just give me your ideas that are all I ask for. Whatever material I see most of I’ll try my best to install that. I want my car to be mine and not stock, that’s why I won’t use any stock material.

It has to match the car though so the interior pics are below.



For those of you who remember my idea for the custom headliner board, that will come eventually but I need a new headliner first, I hate the way people use that against my opinion all the fn time.

Use the same light gray material that you have on the seats, that would look pretty cool. Put that on an ABS headliner.

 

How about black velvet or black crushed velour?

I'm not sure what type of headliner material would match your grey seats, your black door panels, and your purple carpet!

 

d00d its not purple carpet!!!!!!!!!! i swear to *** please dont say that any more. My camera just sees it as purple. My gosh leave that alone.


And leather would be nice, i'm gonna be getting new vinyl seat covers pretty soon, they're reasonably cheap. So keep that in mind.

leather is good, because it can be shrunk or streached to shape.

I believe you can use dope to shrink it.

it also could be made in three pieces, the main H shape then two strips stitched to follow the curve around the edges.

 

suede if you can afford it =) Or a faux suede.

I second the pleather. Would look custom and be in good taste.

Well, my first choice would be *gasp* headliner material, but perhaps tweed would look okay. IMHO, pleather would be awful. Hello cheap looking roof.

 

that car has some kindof heaven and hell thing going on, the outside is bangin, get inside and you just want to scream and run away.. yeah crazy idea but headliner material makes a good headliner, but suede would look good too
those armrests are scary as #$!@

 

thanks guys, i'm proud of the exterior the interior needs some work however. But i landed a job just minutes ago, i start tomorow, so i'll be able to afford thing now.

Dude, get rid of that damn fur on the armrest... it looks just as stupid as the headliner... it would be a decent interior without it. Stop doing stupid stuff... you did a good thing finally coming to us for advice.

 

lukily for you guys all the fur will be gone soon. Shane landed a job today and starts at 4PM tomorow. Which is awesome. I'll be abke to afford everything now.

 

Tweed is made from wool... used a lot in the truck customization scene. All their interiors will be tweed.

Here is what the material looks like:

 

Dark grey suade

Big money, but looks and feels great. Not that you'll be rolling around on your headliner though...

 

What about that rubber type stuff they use for wet suits?

 

LOL thats great now if the car gets wet its waterproof!...umm but seriously:nono: i would have to say the pleather which is cheap.

I was watching Overhaulin last night and they used that wet suit stuff to make seat covers with and it turned out pretty sweet. I think they used it on the whole interior but not sure.

 

Its called Neoprene...and its pretty expensive. Given that it is so expensive I'd still go with suede =)

Pleather would look almost as tacky as the fur.

Although the fur isn't what I'd personally go for, the thing that's even sadder than the fur is the fact that it seems you are changing it only to please people on the internet. People that you don't even know. You obviously liked the fur idea otherwise you wouldn't have done it. My opinion, and everyone's entitled to my opinion, is to stop worrying about what other people think and do to the interior what YOU like.

 

that wet suit shizzle, is what i want, f*ck the fur, i wasted my money before.

I will be getting this done with my first pay check, whihc is next friday. i will order it with 4 yards, that will cover it and then, since that shizzle is soo cool, might even cover the whole armrest. might need a little more then 4 feet though, maybe 5. I'll get it done and it will look professional.

Next paycheck the journey will begin for the car. A total transformation will begin. new seat covers, all kinds of stuff. I cant wait until my step-dad gets back in august he wont even know its my car anymore.

LOL i feel your pain dude. When I first posted pics of my new camaro, the top edge of the back seat was sunbleached purple. the whole seat is black except that but thats all people saw in the pics

Your an idiot. If you want to do all these "bright" idea's you come up with, go out and buy yourself a honda...at least if you put fur in that, people won't laugh at you.

 

How 'bout velcro. That way you wouldn't have to build that storage box in the back. You could just put another piece of velcro on things you want to store and they would stick all over the car!

a good way to do it would be Just get some hampton vinyl seat covers from hawks or some place buy some leatherish material for the headliner and the armrest and be done with it

 

I still like the speaker box carpet look, it just sets things off on the interior..
