Hood swap

I was considering getting the ASCD IROC hood to replace the one I crinkled last year. First off, my car is striped so would the black louvers be enough to pick up on that (its a convertible so its only got the hood and trunk stripes). Secondly, would it look good just on general on my car. Any feedback, good or bad, is wanted. Thanx

honestly, i've never been a big fan of that hood, i believe it's a little to "busy" in order to make for a clean instalation, in other words, instead of noticing "nice hood" you are looking at the cowl induction look, then looking at the louvers, then looking at hte portholes, you get the idea. Also, given that the louvres don't go all the way back, nor all the way forward, i'd say that they'll look more like louvers (which were found on many and many camaros) and not so much like the racing stripes you'd mentioned.

My vote, would be, get a 1" to 2" cowl induction hood, have the stripes painted on, or buy the decal kit, and put those on, going from your front bumper, to the rear of the hood. If you're not a big fan of the cleaner cowl hood, my actual choice is the SS hood, in which you could have the stripes painted to either go around and mimic the lines of the SS snorkle, or could have them continue straight, which would give a nice appearce to the snorkle as well. I konw we've all said that the SS hood (despite looking nice has been over done) , and personally i think that's just on this board, where all the thirdgen guys gather, as driving around, i've only seen about 3 or 4 camaros with the hood, the guys at car shows are stock ****'s, and the vast majority 99.9999% of camaros and birds you see on the streets don't have any thing different than a factory hood anyway.

I dunno...i still havent made up my mind on whether or not i want to get it ($$$$$) but i do like it and i have seen it on a car here in town but the car was only primered so i couldnt get the final effect but i do know that if i dont get that one ill just go back with another stock hood becuase all kinda of cars and trucks can get a cowl hood and im not a fan of the snorkel...this one is just different and i havent seen many people with it.

thanks for the opinion tho.

i personally hate the look of those hoods. get a nice cowl hood or the SS hood is really nice looking as well.

I have that hood on my Iroc (it was on it when i got it) except for the 4 holes on either side and i don't think it looks that bad. Ignore the local radio stations stickers they have been removed.

I don't like it. Too many lines on that hood, for a car that has too few. The car looks simple and clean, and the hood looks cluttered. It doen't work very well IMO.

Just my $.02
