Seatbelts??
Seatbelts??
I changed over my Australian belts to the original US belts that I bought a couple months back and they only got here a couple days ago.
I installed them and when I pull on the belt in a jerky fashion to simulate a car accident the belt does not latch?? I tried it so many times that I got tired of it.
Now I presume they should latch correct?
The reason why I changed them over is that the Australian belts do not have any accomodation for the trim piece. So basically the trim piece was just hanging on the T-TOP headliner and eventually fell out.
How do these GM belts work car is a 86 Chev Iroc-z.
Thanks,
Mike

Hmm interesting but maybe I don't have a faulty set. I was told that the seatbelts do not lock when pulled upon. The only way they lock is on sudden deceleration. Can anyone out there test their seatblets in their chev camaro next time you get in.
When you buckle up if you tug on the belt in a fast motion does it lock?
I have been told the way my behave is normal, and that is the way they were made. Interesting.
Recall maybe I should send them back to GM heheh wonder if they would still take them back?? Hehehehe

There is a floating weight mounted inside the seatbelt harness assembly. When it is moved from its perpendicular position as in a sudden stop, it will engage the cam in the seat belt inertia reel and lock it in place. As ZZ42Fast has suggested. try parking on a slight incline and try it.

Sweet guys that information made me feels heaps better
I will try what was suggested, I can see the little weight thing wiggle around freely and I was wondering WTF is that.
Looks like they will be good as gold, only thing the weather here is terrible raining and raining last 3 days.
Thanks again for the information!
