Help. Hood release cable broke.
Topic says it all. Went to pull on it the other day and it broke. Hood is latched shut and can't get it open. Any ideas on how I might be able to pop the hood open? Any help is GREATLY appreciated, being as I can't get into my engine bay now and I need to change the oil before I drive it too many more miles. Thanks.

If you remove some of the panels on the bottom of the car directly in under the latch you should be able to get your hand up there with a screwdriver and open it manually. It's probably a PITA but is doable.

where exactly did the cable break at ???
as long as the cable didnt break by the latch you should be able to find where it broke and cut it and take some pliers and pull the cable there and it will open

It broke by the latch. I'll get up underneath it and see about pulling off some of the panels and stuff out of the way. Thanks guys.

I have opened hoods with broken cables by getting underneeth and working the mech... It may be beneficial to look at another car to see how it is suposed to work.
Good luck
