Removed Rear Seats(have a mockup completed)

heres a mockup made out of cardobard. Not the best quality but you get the idea. It'll be slanted.

covered with Carpet and certain parts covered in vinyl.

the center section still have to be made level for a flat area for cup holders and whatever but this gets the shape in your guys' heads.

sorry mods, my upload server, ls1camaro, is having probs so these will be deleted when they become active once again.

i was going to do that last year. But after mocking it up and everything ( mine is fully mocked, inside and out) it just felt that the outcome would look cheasy. I decided to build one in the well instead. I think it looks way cooler and there is more storage in my backseats than there could ever be in the well so it wasnt even a consideration

the original mock up:

it'll be a little more rounded towards the end this is still in the trial sessions but i do need larger structural wood as the stuff i got, 2x1" isn't big enough for what i need it todo. so.... i gotta get more shizzle.

still need to fillin the corners and re angle those two bottom peices, but....

I think it would look alot cooler if you made it flat and level with the rear hump, going all the way to the back of the front seats... have alot more storage and it would look more original i think

Im gonna tell you so deal with it

I would love a vert with a rounded fiberglass peice in place of the back seat kind of like the aftermarket roadsters ah hell do it just like the roadster but put some vertically stacked speakers in the middle where the light is.............I think that would look cool

There just isnt that much you can do with a coupe that looks cool..........I want a vert

Nice mock up, clown. :lala:
thanks for your input however i'd like to customize MY thirdgen. It may not bew to your tastes, but it is in my book a good option to not having rear seats there. Sure now it looks lke my 2x4 idea cause its made of wood but sew me, i dont know howto work with fiberglass so i couldn;t do that.

Once carpet is on there t'll look really nice guys.

If done right It could look good. I prefer the well area myself. but In a vert/or regular car with a cage and useless backseats this is a good setup.

Heres a vert with a box like that. but the subs are inside facing down. i photoshoped line for where amps could go.

its all 1/8" MDF so its not heavy. Just rienforced with 1x2" peices of wood. So its gonna reallly strong once finished, trust me.

plus it'll add weight to the rear and balance the car out a little.

you'll be balancing it out some, however, what you'll really be doing is adding weight. Balancing would be, removing unnecessary stuff from the engine compartment, and say relocating the battery to the trunk. This way, you're not actually adding weight to teh vehicle, instead, you're simply moving the weight for better distribution.

Good luck with this idea, i had the same one long ago, but do like my rear seats, that and getting it to look right is going to be a pain (the hatch area will be so damn big it'll look unnatural) but it cna be done, and can be done nicely, i just normally have a problem with the hugh void that now is carpeted and needs something to fill it up.

Keep creative, don't over-do it, and work through it one piece at a time, this way, you'll have a finished product that looks repsectable, and maybe will allow people to forget that fur of the past that is probably getting your threads locked up one at a time.

Anyway, no one wants to see a cardboard box. This could be cool if done right and actually gets finished so less posts and more work. I only say that because I'm curious as to the outcome.

finish projects then post about em, trust me you'd get a ton of respect for actually doing something, rather then running your mouth about doing it

In one of his other posts, he is thinking about putting huge tires in the back. This idea may take a backseat (no pun intended) to one of the many other projects he has going on right now.

I had some wild ideas for my cars when I was a teen too. I was actually pulled over for pink fog lights on a Baja conversion Bug with Cragar Wheels. Almost went to jail for concealed weapon on that one. My teenage smart mouth didn't help either.

I think the box could look good if he takes his time and does it right. At least he's not playing video games all day and riding around in an Accord that's fast 'cause it has a shiney muffler on it!

The pics of the torn, taped up cardboard are ****ing hilarious. It's like some kind of Monster Garage project done by a pack of retards.

Cool concept though. I'm sure it'll be very usefull when completed.

..do I need to explain your own post to you?

THIS is why your getting flamed because you make a million posts that have no grounds... if you make 8 great mods a day.. go ahead and make 8 posts, but stuff takes time and no one wants to read through your millions of threads, there here to get info and ideas. 10 posts on each board with a million replies and arguements from you isnt helping, just wasting peoples time.

We would love to shut up, YOU start following your own advice and we will MORE than gladly follow.
