A little console problem

I was wondering if anyone has examined the console and console lid enough to know how that spring on the back end of the console lid works...i just got a sweet full console with hardly any problems for 50 bucks total and i one of the only problems is that the lid just falls down bc that back lever isnt connected to the coil device underneath (which i saw after i flipped it over and examined it) i cant fig out how it works... i noticed on the lever there is a hole but on the coil there is no attachment

can someone please tell me how to fix this???? How do i reconnect it so it works like normal???

The Z bend in the spring goes in the hole on the lid lever.
