What fenders to use

I just bought a set of GFX from a 91 RS. I am going to replace my fenders anyway due to lots of dents but I am wondering if I need to use 91-92 fenders. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really want to only buy them once. Thanks.

Bill

I would recommend GM...

According to Classic Industries, 91 & 92 are unique... I know alot of people have put 91-92 GFX on earlier cars tho

You would think they were all the same. But I come up with 2 part numbers each time. I will just get the ones that match the nose. Hopefully it isnt a difference in the hood line... LOL

It isn't, the difference lies in the front of the fenders where the nose piece bolts on. On the pre 91's the fender extends down a little farther at the front and has 5 holes for mounting the nose, in the 91/92's it is a bit shorter and has 4 holes.

They are all pretty much the same. The only differences are the placement of the holes and whatnot to mount the different years of GFX. You can use any 82-92 fender and make them fit. I have 84, 88, 89, and 91 fenders in my garage, all the same. I'd recommend getting them from the yard or a 3rd gen someone is parting out. New is some $$$.
