well my plan are to drop the car about 2 possible 3''s if possible with out making it ride like complete crap. but also be able to stuff a decent size slick under there when i take the car to the track. since when i ever get done with this car it will be a show/strip/fun car. the strip part will be few times year.

well the car is goin to be gettin the following list of things done

496 BBC pushin 6-700+ hp
th-400 tranny
12 bolt rear end
start to redue my suspention to help in lowering the car
91-92 gfx
ascd big block hood
custom paint job
17 or 18'' rims probably 10-11'' in the rear and 9.5 up front (street&show only)
the a set of 15x10 pro star rims with what ever tire helps me down the 1/4

thats just a blunt list of things

the thing im worriedabout is lowering the car 2-3''s and not having the room to stuff whatever size tire i end up puttin under it to hook and to ride on the street without rubbing.

since i gotta do alot of rust repair i figured id either do it myself or get my mechanic to do it (he's built a decent amount of prostreet and outlaw racers goin well into the 7's)

so thats pretty much a small portion of what im tryin to do. and yet to keep the tire/rim inside the fenderwell with plenty of clearence.

can you take any pics of where you had to cut out tyhe orignial sheetmetal? i work at a sheetmetal fabricating and welding shop so i dont have any problem gettin sheetmetal nor bending the metal to fit the contour of the wheel well.

edit: hey also do you think you'll be able to get the stock interior pieces back in with out anyone noticing u mini tubed the car? thats what im also goin for is a full interior also with out leaving anything exposed excupt the 8 point roll bar

The way I originally did it befor I went vert. YES the plastics would have fit. That was a MUST for me.

even now with the top choped and fully funtional vert top it works. Int. trim will be fine.

If you look throug the folder you will see where I cut it. i dont have any finial trimed pic's but I will take some.

I guess I don't understand the point of mini-tubbing if you are keeping the stock suspension setup. What is the point of cutting out that metal when the spring perch and corresponding support is there, thats what is going to keep you from going with a larger tire.

its mainly so u can fit either a taller and a bit wider tire with out havin to back half the car. and so that taller/wider tire wont rub on the inside fender well and so u can tuck the tire in more with out it stickin out of the fender lip. thats my guess

http://www.cecoatings.com/images/Car...s/DSC01192.JPG

Mini Tubbed with the right offset I can run a 17x11 or 18x12 No problem.

I can get some pic of the rear mounts they are like this

HEy i was just woundering since im not sure how wide i might go on rims but im lookin to get some 17 or 18x10'' rims for the back do u think id need to trim or even mini tube with stuff the tires back there but where they wont be stickin out like past the fender lip? i still gotta doi alot of rust repair but its in small places in the wheel wells and since it looks like the rust is in the areas where people mainly have there tires rub. you think it would be wise to either minitube it oir just trim in those areas? either way gotta cut up the wheel wells.

Depending on the offset/backspacing Id deff tell you to roll the outer lip. and if you have to use a BFH on the inner well.

Personally I just desided to mini tub it so i can run what ever size I like and not have to worry about it.
