Thirdgen calander???
I can not find any calanders that have thirdgens. I found one that had 1 in it all the rest are all 69 camaros. I think we should make our own calanders on thirdgen. I know i would buy one.

well..that was the only 3rd gen calander I knew of....he didn't ask whether he wanted Camaro or Firebird
It would be really cool if we could start a calander with just 3rd gens from TGO...both Camaro's and Firebirds

You got it it would be nice with both like TTA's B4C's IROCS, Even V6's. Like have a picture of the car as the main photo and in the corner have a pic of the interior, engine, stereo, etc

Im not makeing any promises but let me see if i can find a program that would let me make a calander. And then how much it would be to actualy have them printed costs etc. There is a printshop by my work. I would also need people to give me pictures of there cars. But let me see what i can do when i have time between work and school.

it would be cool to have a third gen evolution calander like starting with a 1982 modle year and ending with an 1992 modle year but we would need two more then for those two we could include special or rare third gens just something its was throwing a round in my head

The biggest problem with making a calindar is Getting Permission from GM.... Your looking to spend $3,000 to get permission, and then they get a cut of all your sales. And to boot if they decide that they no longer want you to make them, they pull the plug and your out of business...
Then there is the Logistics of the whole thing, if you get permission you have to find a way to get it to your customers. Not only that if you want to sell it to venders, stores etc...
For 2003 & 2004 there was a Firebird Calindar, I liked it because they had a balance of years, usually a couple 3rd gens per year... His name was Orlando, and I met him at the Trans Am Nats in Dayton OH. I was talking to him about all of this, and apparently he got out of it for one reason or another.
Working with GM is sometimes difficult.
If I were to try and actually make a calindar I would start now for 2006. Although right now is the time when everyone is thinking of 2005, it would take some time to make a quality product with substance.

Not sure if I would go through the trouble with making this a national thing...like seeing it in Malls...Book Stores...all of that..even though it would be cool. Seems like we could just make it open to anyone on TGO and anyone who happens to run onto the site. That way..you wouldn't have to mess with GM or anything...

So, why does GM have to get involved if we're using pictures of individual's cars with the owner's permission?

why would you necessarily need GM's permission? I don't think the local garages that have calanders of chopped hot rods or drag cars get permission from the company that orginally made the car. for crying out loud over half the parts on the car aren't even made by GM.

You still need permission from GM, Don't ask me, and personally I cant even argue my point. All I am saying is they will go after you if they find out and they feel like it. Then your screwed, they have Billions of dollars to throw around at Lawyers, we don't.
There was a sign company that was making mock street signs, that would say "Camro Way", or "Firebird St" and GM came down on them. I know its lame, but you have to be careful. Since GM owns the rights to the design of our cars, and although we may own the car, and the picture, we do not own the copyright to the design... Its thin ice I know, but I nor I would expect many of you would have the money or the time to fight them.
As far as putting cars on calindars, some people may not care like Boyd Coddington, He may not care, and just let them do whatever they want. Were not dealing with them...
Next time you see a CAmaro Calindar, I would hope it has a "GM Authorized" logo on it...
This is why we dont do it here... Matter of fact this is the same issue we had with the T-shrits... this is how I know all this crap. I went even one step further by making drawings of 3rd gens and Cafe Press still shut us down because of fear from GM.

the PopularHotrodding 2005 calendar doesn't have a gm logo and they didn't ask permission to use my car(not that i would have said no) and that's on newstands all around the world???
i suppose if you really pushed the gm brand then you might have issues but in most situations i doubt it.

I was talking to my G/F and she said you might be able to bring your pictures to walmart and they can insert them into a calander format. This may be able to make it allot easier on all of us that way you can select what cars you want on the calander. Next time i go there i will see if this is possible.
