Use what GM used on alot of their factory replacements...
Double sided 3M Tape (3M is the best)
You can get it at Autozone, Adavance, Wal-Mart...
I use the one with the orangey/red backing (stronger), not the white.

Use it on my out of production 2nd gen bird emblems! GM uses the stuff. Just make sure you clean both surfaces really well with alcohol before...

clean it well.. use alcohol like suggested above...
then use 3M emblem tape... dont use a diffrent brand. even if its "ment for" emblems...
that stuff will make it stick on, even at extended speeds so high that your car will never reach them.
also, the sun and rain and tempature changes wont make it come off....

3M also makes a product called Trim Adhesive. I've had good success with it in glueing my emblems back on.

GM didnt use double sided tape on any of my cars they used adhesive. I have seen them put on both ways and i have taken them both off. The tape comes off way easier than the adhesive. I would go to your local parts store and ask for trim and emblem adhesive it comes in a tube like rtv. Its more messy but stronger. I have just never been a fan of double sided tape for anything.

ive used two part epoxy before to put them on but forget about ever takin them back off, but the double sided tape usually works fine, clean the panel with alcohol, just don't drink it

Seeing as how you may want to take them back off. I again say 3M tape... the adhesive will be too messy and could damage the paint and the emblem if you ever want it back off.

I call B.S if you use trim and emblem adhesive made my 3M which comes in a red box and it is tube inside. You are a friggin dumb *** to use an epoxy that is like super glue. GM uses the adhesive not double sided tape. I just took the badges off of the back of my gtp and they were held on by the black adhesive. Here is a pic didnt hurt the paint at all looks perfect. And by the way the dealer i bought the car from put their logo on the car with double sided tape and it took me just as long to get all the sticky off from the tape as the adhesive. I think it would be pretty hard to break a badge unless is was crumbling before u took it off. The factory badges were right below the key hole and were about a foot wide across the trunk.

Well the point is that we are comapring it to what GM uses on its replacement emblems. I have ordered multiple emblems (2nd gen birds) over the counter over the years and they have all come with the 3M emblem doubled sided tape.
But for giggles, the duallys original hub came with center emblems that had the adhesive GM uses. Well that lested about a year before it slung off. Took it in under warrenty they replaced it with more adhesive...slung off again. the next time I got it over the counter from them and installed it myself. The emblem came with the 3m emblem tape (grey tape with red tape backing) already installed. Well I put that one and and it stayed for 10 years. Took it off and replaced the hub and put the emblem on a new hub came off fine with a hairdryer to soften the tape. Then I got the 3M emblem tape from Wally world (again grey tape with red backing) and reinstalled again held fine for years!
In fact, I ordered the GM body side moldings. See the dually was made around the body change and they, at the time of purchase, did not offer them for a dually. So I got them later dealer compted. They came with the same 3M tape!
So if GM trusts the stuff, I do. I have great luck with all my emblems holding for years. And again have even removed and reapplied and had good luck.
A good trick for removal with 3M tape...get some fishing line and you can cut the tape B/w the body and emblem. Keeps you from stressing the emblem like you would if prying it off!

another thing.... thoes"tuner" bodykits you see on alot of crap cars...
they're held on only with 3M tape... and know what? they dont just fall off easily.. even after a couple years...
the width of the tape is so thin that you would never know its there... its about as thick as a glop of adhesive behind the badge would be.
im just pointing out that its not going to come off with the tape... you can use adhesive if you want, its your car.. its just harder to get off later.
