OK guys, yet another crazy idea!!!!!

As some of you may know(from me saying it in previous posts) I work as a tech at a Lexus dealership. One car in particular, the SC430 has a piece that I would like to copy somewhat. The door sill plates are brushed aluminum, and have the word LEXUS on it. The lettering is kind of like a reddish/clear, and when you open the door up, it lights up. I tried searching for some custom sill plates, and the closest that I can find is this.....

This is for a fourth gen. Now does anyone know if this thing might fit in the third gen sill plate location? If it is close, I might pick it up, install it, and then get a thin light element similar to the lexus model and hook it up so that when you open the door, you will see CAMARO in red(which will be the same color as the car!) Any insight on this is appreciated.

no it wont. 3rd gens have the notch for the seat belts. i think the 4th gens might be a bit wider?

they probably could fit with a little modification?

I took my digital camera to work to take some pictures of the sill plates so you guys can see/compare. This first pic is of the sill plate by itself not lit up at all......

This second pic is of the same sill plate but lit up. It took me a while to figure out how to turn the flash off on my camera so that you could see what it looks like at night. Here is what I got....
