custom....much like mine for the newer dash style. however 3 gauges is as many as i would like to fit in a 3rd gen. i've seen some trucks with 4 gauges, but they are much roomier inside then our cars

Do they really take up alot of space?

Maybe I should go with a double gauge pillar?

Thats looks pretty good...Are they in any way annoying? Vision or getting in/out?

What do your gauges measure?

I was thinking about

Differential Temp
Cyl Head Temp
Fuel Pressure

well i use to have air/ fuel, vaccum, and trans temp. as we speak the air/fuel gauge is traveling across seas to a fellow thirdgenner.

my new one will either be nitrous pressure, or oil temp. not sure yet

ive never had a time where they have gotten in the way of seeing the road or other cars.

Which fuel pressure gauge?

0-15 PSI or 0-100 PSI

Whats stock pressure setting for a 3.1?

The 3.1 is MPFI so I think its something like 32psi (at least, thats about what it is for TBI and TPI)... I dont recall exactly but thats ball park. If you can get one 0-50psi it'd be perfect.

Thanks for the pictures man

I've decided on a 3 gauge pillar with the Carbon Fiber Autometer 2 1/16 Air/Fuel Ratio,Trans Temp and Fuel Pressure.

why on earth do you need a diff. temp guage and a cyl. head temp guage? just to put guages in the car? that's ri_got_dern_diculous if you ask me! i guess you found a use for that $120 u saved on the useless underdrive pulleys and are putting in useless guages. the people that use those said guages would be someone making a sick amount of power, and using it at high speeds sustained for hundreds of miles, ie nascar or indy. stick in a trans temp and air/fuel ration guage and call it a day. at least you can use those to help tune the car. here is a pic of my car with a dual pod on top of a single pod (already had the single, would be silly to replace it with a more expensive triple)

sorry, we posted about the same time, glad to see you reconsidered the guage type selection. can't go wrong with Autometer, all my father and i have been using since the mid 80's.

Actully the Diff temp caught my eye simply because its completly useless and different...lol Kind of like the "Brake Pressure" gauge.

Both of those are rather nice gauges to have, when you are doing something like silverstate. you can use the brake pressure gauge when adjusting your front/rear braking bias, and the rear diff temp guage speaks for itself, when you are sustaning 160+ MPH.

I think the Carbon Fiber autometers will go good with the stock looking firebird gauge panel.

Pretty easy. You can put the sender in the pan or inline with one of the tranny cooler lines using a T-Fitting. The latter would be the easiest. former requires you to drop the tranny pan, drill a hole for the sender in a location that doesn't hit the valve body, then run the single wire to the gauge.

personaly it was easier for me to drop the pan and drill and use b&m drain plug kit other wise3 if you try to clap hose in line or make tubbing an get the right fittings it just takes longer droping the pan only took me 30minutes.
