A hood louver idea

I was thinking about putting 68-69 Camaro hood louvers on my harwood cowl.... If placed right, does anyone think i could make it look good? The car will be black.

Key words "If Placed Correctly" anything can look good. All you can do is try and see how it looks. Just remember, that you only have one hood, and if you F" up then your done.

Honestly i dont think it would look all that great, personal reason being, your mixing Old Skool with Not as Old Skool i guess i could say. it looked great on the 1st gen because thats when there was still chrome trim for the windows. the bumpers.. etc. on thirdgens the only visable chrome or aluminum we got are rims

just my personal preferance though, if you like it, then by all means go for it, just get those measurments down

I agree, the third gen Trans AM hood vents are a better example. They are painted too, not chrome/aluminum.

Yah, that is true.. I really wish i had two hoods, so if i dont like it, I can just slap the other one on... lol

I agree on the chrome trim too.. I wish we had a lot more of the little chrome pieces.. I could always put chrome door handles on and the little chrome strip along the back edge of the door on the help accent it... hehe, i could go all out and take '69 chrome rear 'gills' and put them on my quarters... jking, tho i would be very interested just to see how it would look.. i would never do it myself tho...

IF ANYONE WANTS TO PHOTOCHOP, GO AHEAD! lol

you know what "might" look good though, this is just a shot in the dark so dont bash me too bad if you dont like it get the skinny vents from a 3rdgen trans am hood, u know the ones closer to the windshield, and maybe put them in the side back of the cowl hood. Just a thought

btw, nice camaro, i always liked cowl hoods on camaros

i was thinking about putting "Cowl Induction" chrome badging on the sides of the cowl... would that be too old school to work? I know if i ended up putting the 68-69 vents on the top of the cowl, then i couldnt put the badging on the sides (too much clutter)..
meh, i dunno, i dont want it to look gaudy/stupid/cluttered

well, someone on here has "Cowl Induction" on the side of his car.. i used to have the pic saved, must have deleted it by accident.. I dont remember the name of the member either... I just spent the last half-hour searching thirdgen.org too....

I think it would actually look pretty sweet on a black car, would stand out but not in a stupid way.

i had the same idea actually but i'd put in the actually cowl like on the side near the top about 3 in from the windowand instead of chrom i keep it the color of the car with a crome creen. i think i'd think it'd look good. but then again if it messes it up you might be screwed out of a $600 dollar hood. you could always try to repair it ??? if it doesnt work
