mystery switch

I've had my 86 Z for about two years, and I've always wondered what the switch right below the cigarette lighter controls. Its has a red indicator light on it, but I does nothing when i flip it, not even the indicator light, lights.

Speaking of mystery switches....
On an 82 Camaro, what's the switch in between the two power window switches?

You see, now that makes sense! I always wondered why the Camaro (or mine) didn't have one.. You see, I just have a hole in my console there... Stupid PO. So, what does one do to get it working? Buy the switch, and hope the wires are still in there?

EDIT: This? It does say 82-89... : http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/in...il?v=1&pid=280

Yup, that's the right switch. I'd make sure the wires and relay are still in the console first...

I bought the harness, relay and switch off Ebay for $10, used, but cheaper than a new switch by itself, since I needed all the parts anyway.

If you have keyless entry but no alarm, it could still be the valet switch. Or, your car HAD an alarm. It sounds like a valet switch to me.
