91-92 t/a on a 88 formula
ok guys i have an 88 formula ws6.and i want to get the ram air hood, but imo i don't think it looks right with the front clip thats on it now.so what i'm gonna do is put the front clip from a 91-92 t/a minus the lower ground affects (b/c its not a t/a).the reason why is i want the fog lights too.now my ? is will i have problems with the wiring.i'm sure that its diff b/c of the addition of the fog lights.will it be to much of a load electrically on the parking lights to have the fogs come on when the p/l are on?thanks for reading.jay.

first of all having the 91-92 t/a bumper w/o the ground effex elsewhere would look so f ed up. I believe the formula didnt come with fog lights so ur gonna have to wire that up urself. And no the fog lights have their own separate switch than the parking lights so....u got it u can put them on when u want.

You could wire them into the parking light switch, but I would put a seperate relay inline to them since fog lights are a bit more of a load than a mere parking light. The relay will stop the new lights from putting such a load on the existing circuit. Wouldn't take much extra time, and they'll probably shine brighter and wouldn't flicker when you turn on other electrical components.
Having them on with the parking lights would be just fine though... Having a seperate switch is really just a matter of opinion, you don't "have to have it" just because the factory did like this guy above me is implying....

i would try to get ahold of a 91-92 formula bumper. It might be possible to take out that front grill and put in the factory t/a fog and parklight setup. It would look far better than the 92 t/a bumper if it can be done, especially on a formula. With the t/a bumper from the side there isn't an indention where the ground effects would be. The t/a bumper may not match up on the sides.
I would run new wiring with the fogs without a doubt. You can buy a pair of aftermarket fogs anywhere and they come with all the wiring, relay, and switch.
Reasons you should go for aftermarket fogs and wiring:
1. Safety and cost - You may blow a fuse or make wires hot
2. Fogs will be brighter
3. Fogs will look better
For an extra touch on your formula, get a third gen fog light switch from 85-89.

The 91-92 nose on a bird off a formula has no fog lights, least mine doesnt. The cars with gfxs did have fog lights. BTW if you can find a no gfx nose in good shape pick it up they are rare as hell to find. Also from my exp. i took a 88 TA nose off and tried to button it up to my 91 and since the venders are different the holes from the 88 didnt line up quite right and i didnt feel like drilling in my fenders. Just something to keep in mind. The 91-92 fenders i think have more curve to them. Might be mistaken but it didnt line up for me.

ok. i'm wondering if it is possible to take out the front grill piece of a 91-92 formula bumper and put in a 92 fog and park light setup. Is it a separate part or would it have to be cut out of the bumper?
