Installed door weatherstripping
Installed door weatherstripping
lemme just say it was a bitch. mainly cuz of the glass not going down enough to gimme enuff room to get to the little screws that hold it to the door. only managed to get about half of 'em in there. so both ends of the weatherstripping are sorta loose. i moved the inside plastic trim outta the way a bit and managed to break one of the clips
both of the plastic inside pieces on the doors are somewhat loose. does anyone else have this problem. i know my car is old but its these little things that bug the **** outta me. reason why i replaced the outside weatherstripping was b/c there was a big chuck of missing rubber from it. paid about 35 bux from the dealer.

I just replaced that myself a few weeks ago. I know that the outside passenger side is discontinued as well.
It is a lot easier if you take off the door panel, and loosen the window guides to allow more room between the bolts and glass. I only have about 3 screws holding mine in too. Major PITA.

Just feel lucky they aren't riveted on like they do on the Corvettes. I can't wait to change those.

Are you talking about the outside window fewtl that sits on the top of the door? If so, Classic industries sells them in the OER Class, very nice got two new ones for my car after the repaint.
With the door panel off, I had no problem getting them.

i guess i shoulda taken the panel off then. but i still dont see how it would work when the glass is in the way. i had to pry that bitch outta the way with a big screwdriver and still had a hard time.

FYI, the outer strips can still be had new. The inner peices that are attached to the plactic door tops can be had reproduction. I got mine in the mail from Hawks thirdgen on Friday. Look pretty good, I'll see how well it all fits today.

whenever i have more time then i will take the panel off and put all the screws back in. it was a royal bitch doing it the way i did, and i dont like the fact its still somewhat loose. the last 2 screw holes didnt even line up with the holes on the door.
