Swimming Lessons
My Ttop have been sealed perfect for a while now without leaking.
Yesterday i open my door to find that my seat is all wet. This really ticked me off but I got over it.
Now today I open my passenger door and see that my floor mats are wet… nobody has sat in the passenger seat for a week. I get pissed and under the floor mat is soaked carpet. I look on the drivers side of the car to find that its even more soaked. My door panels are all wet.
So yea, I have almost had it, with my Camaro. I got rid of my 2nd camaro for the same reason (the floorboards also had rust + holes)
Ive heard that weather stripping was discontinued (out of all things), is this true? Will better days come?

I had the same problem with my old 87 IROC. The pass side was a lot worse than the drivers side. It got to the point where after a long winter there was a huge puddle where the back seat was, and when I peeled back the carpet it was completely rusted through the floorboard. I guess im lucky with my 92 that they dont leak and I have a garage to keep it in when it does rain.
I dont think its so much that the weatherstripping goes bad, but the design of the t-tops themselves, because you never hear 4th gen guys complaining about leaky t-tops.
Remember, there are 2 kinds of 3rd gen t-tops: Ones that leak, and ones that are going to leak

design flaw i say. My t-tops leak only when it poors. but even then it doesnt leak alot.. only leaks on the pass rear seat (which no one sits on) and a little on the pass side but not enough to make a huge puddle. Thank ***

No i dont think they stop making the T-top seals. When you replace the t-tops seals again you might have to put some silicon under the seal to make it even more sealed. try this website

yea I checked hawks and it seems like its a good idea
as for the silicone, that thought crossed my mind and would probably be a real good idea,
im also (for now) thinking about raising the window a little more, to make more of a seal.

Yeah thats a good idea too to raise the window. I think i did all i can to make my windows and sealed as possible. I do get a little bit of water in the car when i wash it. But its stays dry when it rains. the only thing i have trouble is getting water in the passenger rear seat. I dont understand GM

my t-tops dont leak, but its where the window doesnt completely seal against the body that water can get in... i dont think new seals would even fix it... but you can get aftermarket ones...

same issue with my windows. my t-tops dont leak evenwhen i wash my car or let it sit out in the rain. but my windows dont seal completely to the door, bad weatherstripping and my door pins are shot. need to fix my window lift motors too, might as well fix my entire car while im at it.

my 84 Z doesn't leak.... But I've only had it 6 months or so I don't know if the seals were replaced or not. My hardtop leaked when I was washing it though with the pressure washer at the car wash. Not alot just a tiny bit. Raising the window helps alot.
You guys do know that the t-top can be adjusted to fit tighter right? I just did this to a friends 91 RS. Also make sure that you keep the rubber weatherstripping clean and protected with some kind of cleaner/conditioner (I prefer Black Magic, as Armor All will dry out an ruin the rubber).
I have owned 3 t-top cars and only had a leak once in my formula, and I adjusted the t-top and no more leaks.
And if it comes to the point when they need replacement, and they will eventually as nothing lasts forever, then I will make sure to keep them clean and protected and adjust the tops to the new wetherstrip.

2. Where those t-top rods insert into, take off the plastic trim around them. Actually, you dont have to take it completely off either.
3. You can adjust the t-tops how far in and how far down they go by adjusting the two 8mm or 5/16? screws. Adjust both places - by the windshield and on the roof above and over by your rear speaker.
4. Put back on your trim.
