OR....how gay would it look to have a red interior with black seats?

They did make some red seats in 4th gen maros, however, thank *** that the whole "all red" interior was definately dead by the end of the third generation. The red seats in the camaros were a red and black or red/charcoal combination. Hate to say it, but, do a search for them, i know there's out there, and people have swapped them in.
There was once a mint set at my yard, guy told me i could have em for a 100 bux, but, i couldn't afford it at the time. Damn, they just ended up getting trashed when the seats went out to the regular part of the yard, really really blew, since those things were definately worth some $$.
Having a set of black seats wouldn't look that bad in a red interior either, infact...i might even help it out...***, i hate tons of red, lol.

there are a precious few 4th gen Trans Am red leather seats floating around out there, and most of the older 4th gen trans am seats weren't powered.
You may be waiting for a very long time before you find one of these sets. I've only seen them on ebay twice. You might want to pick up a cheap set of 4th gen seats and start saving your pennies for aftermarket covers from Katskins or a similar vendor.

I'd say go for it anyways. I have a tan interior with black leather seats and it doesn't look bad. As soon as I change the carpet it will look much better. Especially since half of the interior is black anyways. Also, you can always get different covers for them to change the color.
boom!! red fourth gen seats from hawks. I hate to say it but does anybody ever look at the links at the top of your page. this took me three clicks and never typed in a thing.

I was also going to say the same, some times it pays to take a little time and do a search for yourself. They also have the black with red insert 4th gen cloth style.Originally posted by 1992rs/ss

im trying to find non power seats, is 800 dollars a good price? If it is, i wont be doing this yet...i could do a good engine rebuild for that price first
thanks for the help so far

given rarity, i'd say you should re-prioritize...not engine rebuild vs. new seats, but....non-power seats, vs. red seats. Finding red seats is going to be more difficult than finding ebony seats, or charcoal seats, so, i'd put that at the top of your list. It'd be simple enough for you to splice into your wiring to add power seats, it'd increase resale a tad also. Plus, there's also the fact if you really really wanted, you could always swap sliders and rails for a manual set from the boneyard.
Mute point, the price $800 might be a little high, might not, depends on how many people want the seats. 800 bux for ebony leather isn't all that "unreasonable" if everyone wants the same set of seats. Do i personally think that 800 bux is high for red seats, yes. Remember, they're rare, however, desireability, and rarity are two completely different things. Good luck getting what ya need.

hey thanks, i guess i'll keep looking untill i find a good deal or what i need. I was just thinking about what i should do next to my car, and i hate the OEM seats...they make your butt sink down too far...uncomfortable. I weigh like 130 or so (6ft, skinning ****) and if i take a hard turn i slide out...

dan ive seen those same 800$ red/grey 4thgen seats you are looking at on Ebay in person.... they were at Dyno Don's shop and they are crap.. they are not worth 800$... that guy had a bad habbit of over paying for everything... they were in his 4thgen TA that never ran.. and the car had been sitting for over a year with dust and crap all over it.. that picture is from when he 1st got them in...
steer clear.. spend $800 bones on some quality seats, not recovered 4thgen seats...
hell they arent even leather... who spends 1300$ on velor seat covers and then tries to sell them for 800$??? good lord you can get leather seats cheaper than that!!!!
also why do you want "non" power? the power 4thgen seats actually slide back farther and can sit lower than any 3rd gen seat.. and to wire up the power... is as simple as falling off a log.. there are only 2 wires... 1 to power.. 1 to ground... DONE...

did you solder yours? Yes i know all about fuses ive taken 2 college level automotive electronics classes
If you've taken two college level electronic courses, automotive or not, you'd know when you need solder, when you don't, when it doesn't matter, and what the point is.
People gave opinions, and now you feel the need to ask again? Oh yeah, forgot about that baby of yours, the post count.

If you can figgure out how to use the search function I'm sure you will find more "opinions"

Why close it when you can learn something instead? You have 2 ways to locate that user, either by clicking the "members" button and reading through the lists (took me 30 seconds to find that on section T page 44 you would have all the usernames that begin with tuned) or you could click the "search" button and do a search on the partial name match "tuned" however this could or could not take longer than the first method. If you are willing to learn how to use the features of the forum software then you can save yourself alot of time and needless posting.

DanTheMan_smlk-
Do you currently have power or non-power seats? Do you know that the seats tracks between 4th gen and 3rd gen seats are interchangeable? So, if you got a set of power 4th gen seats...and currently have non-power 3rd gens seats..you can swap the seat tracks....and vice-versa....

Dan didnt you like bitch me out on how red was nice and you liked yours being red awhile ago? Amazing how if more then 1 person gives you an opinion you change ur own opinion. Do something you like instead of going by everyones elses...and actually USE someone elses advice before you go asking more dumb questions...
Black seats with red interior will look great...red is not that bad just in the 80s they went red crazy on interiors...overboard on red which is why im changing mine. All thats left in my car to switch over from the red are seats...my center console is red so i think im going for a black with red inserts leather seat combo.
Thatll match real good in my opinion.
If you go with black with red or just all black itll look good either way.
