Is there any way to increase the heater so the air blows out faster? Is there a filter to change?

Higher voltage to the blower motor via a DC-DC converter, or higher powered motor if you can find one.

I think the filter stuff would have been only found in the 4th gens.. as far as I know.. it is a late 90's thing is when they started ctually putting another filter into the cars for the internal air I believe.

my sisters 87 did not have one when i redid the heater core. there was a dust buildup on the core fins themselves if i remember correctly. but a little tip, if you do all the work to go in there and clean it, just swap it out. they are cheap and a PITA to get too,

I stuck a new motor in my 85 IROC and the flow far exceeded my expections. Try it. Shoot, some of those motors are 20 plus years old. Add twenty years to your life and you'll probably slow down a bit too

As in the old 2-60 air conditioning?

Seriously, what more powerful motors (if any) will fit and work in our 3rd Gens? Anything from an S-10, Saturn, etc.?

It looks like the thing to do is put in a new motor and drive alot faster, and maybe hang my head out alittle.

Sure it does. There is definitely a forced air component to the speed of the air through the system, caused by the vehicles speed. To test this, move your control to "Vent", and the fan to the far left (off). As you drive, the air coming through the vents gets faster as you speed up.
