air vents

my passenger side air vent is busted, the one RIGHT by the passenger door just under the dash...the fins broke off and it's one of the only things that is messed up in the inside of my car, i'm trying to make this thing perfect...so i went to a junkyard and found TONS of these things in great condition, but i couldn't get one off without busting it lol. how the heck do they come off?

or does anyone by any chance just have one lying around they'd just give to me, since they're not even worth $5?

you stick a small flathead screwdriver right into the middle at the top and gently pry out

it's just a little plastic nub that sits in a recess in the dash piece

that'd take too much time standin' in the junk yard trying to rip off the dash to get behind it so i can take out air vents...

If you are so meticulous about your interior I would think you would want to do things the right way and not risk breaking another vent.

but if i can get just ONE out in tact at the junkyard...then i dont have to worry about breaking the one in my car even more b/c it's already trashed...and they're alot easier to get in than out...just gotta get one out of a car in the junk yard...might cost me a dollar, then put it in. simple.
