Post pics of your primered camaros..

Yea, I am probably going to be flamed uip the *** for this, but I want everybody to post pics of your daily driven primered camaros.

I am going the $.98 rattle can primer black with my car. I just had a new roof welded in due to what looked like a golf ball sized surface rust spot turned out to be a basketball sized cancer spot. I fixed the other rust spots too with bondo, some 18ga sheet metal, and a welder and grinder. the car is looking good now. especially since I sanded through the 4 (no thats not a typo) diffent paint colors.

I am going $.98 rattle can primer black. on a gem ment 10 straight body.

I am going through all the painting procedures of a color change (Minus the engine bay). I will do it when I do my motor rebuild/swap.

I just got 4 new 15x8 American racing tailgunner rims, and 2 235/60/15 Firestone indy firehawk 500 tires for the front, and 2 used Goodyear Eagle 28x10.0x15 drag slicks with tubes. I got everything for less than $700.

Back to the body though.

I just want to see how many fellow third genners are out there sporting the primer paint, so post on WITH pictures. Mine wont be up untill the finished product is here.

To give you an idea how thorough my job is, I have already used a case of Krylon (20cans) and I am only about a 1/3 of the way done.

You might as well go all the way and spend the money to buy 20 cans of rattle can paint (color of your choice) and 20 rattle cans of clear to have an ultimate DIY paint job. I am curious to see how it turns out, I have a neighbor who rattle can primered his bird and it looks like crap IMHO. But go for it, I heard Macco can paint your car for $200

I Primed mine with black primer. Not rattle can stuff though. A gal of primer and reducer I bought from the local mom & pop auto parts store for $47.

Shot the car outside in my yard as you can see from the pics. (links listed below) I used a harbor fright HVLP gun, IR 60 gal, 11.3 cfm @ 90 psi air compressor.

I changed the hood after I primered it, and shot the glass cowl hood on the ground off the car, I kinda triped over a tree limb and that caused me to stop the gun travel, so I got two darker spots on driver's side middle of hood. I'm gonna re shoot the hood after I get my roll cage in and interior back in.

As you can see... my car has been a drive it and build/mod it as I go along.

Look at this page of my picture album for pics of sanding stage, tape up and shoot primer stages. http://community.webshots.com/album/292239995aZYSVX/1

Here's another album that shows more pics of the primered car, burnout, glass hood, etc. Look at both pages of this album

spend the few extra bucks and use DP 90.

Its a epoxy primer/sealer.

I know lots of old school race cars done this way. Im not talking cheap people either.
