I dont think there is any difference. I took the t-tops off my old 89 and put them on my 92. The only difference i know of in t-tops is the make because some are glass and some are that acrylic type. The glass are heavier but def look better in my opinion.

there is 3 different style latches between the years
the earlier ones had a hook style, and then they moved to a pin style, and the later years had a pin style also, but it was much fatter

For the diff latches, you can just swap the guts of the t-top mechanisms out. The later pin style seals the best for me
Nother thing, there were 2 types of lexan and glass t-tops as well
Most had a band of metal surrounding the outter edge like the metal band around the rear hatch glass
Rare few glass didnt
Extremely rare few lexans didnt, and those were VERY weak so the dumpseter they went, along with the GM aging recalls for all lexans
Unbanded glass looks best but the glass will rattle in the middle t-bar over ruff road
Ive only got one unbanded lexan on a parts car and it had a crack down it, so I dont know how well it performed

Yeah they were recalled, I had a few dealership letters from 92 stuffed into my owners manual, but still had the damn lexans when I bought it
I HIGHLY doubt the recall is still good since its not a safety thing
