i did my car in standox base with PPG clear. some other companies that i have used and would reccommend are:
PPG
standox
dupont
sikkens
RM
dimont(sp)
i also heard that glasso is good stuff. if you are on a "budget" dont even bother looking at standox, sikkens or house of kolors

PPG clears are great. But i have found that they are not very user friendly. If U know how to paint there ok.. I use depont very easy system. But like other have said there are alot of good paint brands..

if you use dfx-11 supercharger with the concept 2002 clear then there is 1 more activator that is used (i forget the number) then it is mixed 1:1:1/2, which is simple when useing mixing cups, and it makes the clear go further
Dupont stuff is just as good as the ppg stuff, and glasseret makes great stuff as well. i try to stay away from sikkens, had bad experences with them, and house of kolor is expensive considering the same stuff can be had from ppg or dupont for less.

Ive used PPG and Dupont and both are great (probably most other large brands are as well) I think you should be more concerned with the prep and application than the paint brand.

All of the major players make great paint. Just make sure that whatever brand you go with, you use a urethane paint, preferrably a 2 stage with a basecoat and a clearcoat.

My personal experiance has shown me that the PPG clears tend to lay out better than the duponts. Dupont always seems to have more texture to it than the PPG.

He meant that the quality of the body work and the talent of the guy doing the painting will both have a much more drastic effect on the quality of the finished product than the brand of paint used, and he's absolutely correct.
