Forget restoration, just buy these... http://www.racerwheel.com/rt101101.html

I saw these for the first time the other day. I believe that its a new product. The very first set of aftermarket clear parking lights that I've seen for a thirdgen camaro. If you want to try to restore the stockers though, try soaking them in some greased lightning (the orange one). Good luck!

I like those new lights and the price. Have you ever used them?

Also, how difficult is the removal/install. The clear side markers, with those metal clips, were surprisingly easy. Are the parking lamps just as easy?

each parking lamp is held in by 2 10mm bolts from the inside of the bumper. With the correct extension and ratchet, it's a 5 minute swap... IMO is easier than messing with those little metal clips on the side markers.

I ordered a set a couple days ago I'll post pictures when I get them on. As for installation, its a breeze. Each stock housing is held on by two bolts. The light itself threads in and out by means of a plastic wing-nut attached to the opposite end of it. It would take you under 10 min. to remove the old ones and install the new ones. I like the look as well. I only wish a chrome bulb shield was included...

Did you cut out the inside of the parking lamp ?

Your headlights look great.

Pics would be awesome!

The headlights are a sealed beam to H4 conversion with city lights and H4 an HID setup. The parking lights I re-faced with 1/4" lexan.

jim, I'm gonna have to disagree with you, at least in my case. I have a black plastic "gaurd" that sits directly under the parking lamp, attatched to the air deflector and the front fascia. I tried working around it, but the outside bolt (the one closer to the side of the car) was impossible. It was way too cold to take the gaurd off (i tried, but after 20 mins my hand was a popcickle), so maybe after that's gone it will be easier. Uggghhh .

I have the guard too, use a 14" extension for one bolt, and a deep socket with no extension for the other

No 14" extensions in my tool box .
I ended up taking off the two bolts holding the black gaurd up and it just flapped down. I was then easily able to access both bolts and the lamp itself with a six inch extension.

That photo-chop looks good. Looking forward to see them in actuality .

Photoshop looks great. I can't wait till I recieve mine. Now only if I can find some clear fogs that are nearly the same size as stock... The foglights are going to look totally out of place next to clear headlights, parking lights, and sidemarkers.

Sorry for not posting them yet. I've been really busy lately. Batteries ran out so here's the best I've got for now...

This picture turned out really bright (flash is always on) and does not do them any justice though. They look 100x better than stock and are simply breathtaking at night when the turn signals are being used. Heads literally turn as I signal to turn, and that is with stock bulbs! Everyone needs a set. I highly recommend getting these.

yea they look great man but are you going to get a diffrent bulb. it would look much better if you replaced the yellow bulb with a silver one if you make sure to post a pic with the new bulb

I still debating getting different bulbs. I have no doubt that they would look better, but I would probably end up getting ticketed. I'll see...

The silverstar replacements have a metallic silver/blue outer coating and light up amber, they're $19.98 for the pair. I went to advance to check them out after you posted your picture, and I think they'd look great.

As for restoring parking lamps instead of buying a new one, I did mine last year by wet-sanding the lens surface with 1000 grit sandpaper then applied some clearcoat (I used DupliColor Acrylic Enamel clearcoat). Took less than 1 hour and they look pretty much brand new. They're installed in the car for almost a year now and still look good.
Plus, it only costs me $4 for a rattle-can clearcoat

Pic of before and after:

there's also a thread of how to make those clear ones using your stock lights. probably a lot cheaper in the long run than the aftermarket ones.
