87 Iroc body pannel serial #'s

Hi, I am thinking of buying an 87 Iroc that is to be 100% original. I have looked at the car and there are VIN# stickers on the inner front fenders and under the hood by the emmission sticker. They also have a date/serial code on the stickers. Is this factory and would anyone have the serial or date codes for an 87 Iroc. Thanks in advance.

i would think its normal they started puting vins in all kinds of hard to find places to make it harder for car theves to totaly mask the car origin. plus it looks like the proper font and such. does it match the cars VIN in both places?

yes, they all match the vin# of the car but what throws me off is they say "Genuine GM" like the repacement parts, but could you get these stickers for replacement pannels ??? They are not hard to find on the inner fenders, they are right by the marker lights.

These stickers are correct for an 87. They are factory and can not be reproduced.

i have yet to se it on my car but its every where on my dads truck and his i banged up real bad but its all origional. you have to do some perty serious dissasembly to find them but they are there, i just figure i have yet to take my car far enough apart to find them. it still stands as a fact that you cant get official stickers like those from well any where. unless it came from the factory.

xplane, you won't find the stickers on your car. GM started that with the Camaro in 1987 if I remember correctly.

Found a few of those today on a 89 Formula I'm parting out. Same places, same type of stickers. Also found one on the passenger inner quarter panels.
