I got ripped off on Ebay HELP
Here's the deal. I won an auction on ebay for a dash pad. See this link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ADME:B:EF:US:1
I received the dash pad and it is cracked on both corners by the small vents. It is also cracked on the right side where it would meet the a-pillar. The seller claims it was fine when he shipped it and by the looks of the pics it may have been but hard to tell. It had insurance on it. How do I go about getting refunded for this item? Has anyone run into this? The box looked a little beat up but it was bubble wrapped very well. I think I need to contact UPS but I am unsure on how to go about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Bummer. MY total came to 202.00 dollars. I hope I can have better luck. Note to all "don't bet on dash pads surviving the journey".

if you signed for the package when it arrives you're screwed. if no signature was given then you can try to fight it through UPS. otherwise before signing ALWAYS open the box before signing you received it in good condition.

Please look up and PM badbob66, I have purchased 2 dash pads from him in the past for far less than what you paid, the pads were mint and each time I opened the box it took me a half hour just to open it. PM him and he may just have one, you won't regret it. Good luck with UPS.

all claims through UPS have to br placed through the sender unless you provide your own UPS account info for shipping. It will take a long time and hopefully the seller wont screw you...... happened to my friend. The sender filed the claim and kept some of the money, 1/3 actually

DAYUMN someone ripped you off bad... I just got in my camaro drove about 18 minutes from my home and payed 1 dollar for the entery fee to the scrap yard... walked around for like 1 hour and found a PERFECT DASH PAD for my camaro NO CRACKS no nothing just missing passanger side vent.. took it out paid $16.00 BUUUYAAAAHH!!! What I learned on e-bay is this, you dont buy SENSATIVE ITEMS that includes: TAILIGHTS-DASHPADS- OR any kind of item your gut tells you that it will break during shipping!!!!
A UPS claim, regardless of who reports the damage, will always be paid to the shipper.
If you believe that the merchandise was damaged BEFORE it was shipped then you would need to deal with the seller directly. If that person refuses to help you then dispute the charge with PayPal or your credit card issuer (if that is how you paid). If you sent a money order or didn't use a payment form with some kind of buyer protection then you are out of luck.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you get your money back. If you cant get anything out of ups then see if you can prove the seller misrepresented the item.
I have 3 perfect dashpads for sale right now and I have sold 2 before (airpak even made a thread about me in the feedback board). I always ship them wrapped in bubblewrap, in a 6-8" thick box filled with foam chips and so far so good. Just curious, is this how yours came?

dash pad
Mine came wrapped 1-2 inches of bubble wrap on the ends and about 1/8 inch on the rest. The box was banged up but didn't appear to be bad enough to cause damage. The dude's feedback is 100% so I don't know what to think. Plus he's 2000 miles away. I sent a claim in via internet and got a bunch of mumbo jumbo emails back that I need to sift thru and figure out the next step.

$167!! Where were you when I was selling my Camaro dash pad?
Sounds like it just got beat up during shipping- find another locally or somewhere that you can pick it up to avoid the same thing happening next time. Good luck!

How did you pay?
if you used a credit card through paypal. File a CC charge back with your CC company, not paypal.
paypal cannot block or stop CC charge backs, even if they are false.
You can pretty much buy stuff with your CC through paypal n file a false claim, and your CC will get your money back. Even if your lying.
If ya read payapl it will tell ya they can't do anything to stop CC charge backs but to help stop them, you should ship to only the paying address and within 7 days of auction end. But still if people want to rip ya off, they can.
thing is paypal doesn't care enough to fight the charge back right and 99.9999999$ of all charge back go through. But the funny thing is the seller wont know till 3 months later when paypal comes looking for their money. With no 2nd chance option to fight.

You can do it how ever you want but just ifle a CC charge back quick. Don't wait to long. Say the item came damaged and you want your money back.
I wouldn't worry about shipping it back. Only if they seller offered to give a refund would I send it back. if you must file a CC CB to get your money, Id just keep it.
say it never showed up if ya want.
just do it through your CC not paypal.

thing here is your honestly going after a refund.
When you can lie and make stuff up and you would still get your money back.
so......

It is probably the same with UPS. But if you have a picture before it was shipped (i.e. the auction) and a picture of the box and actual item and how it looked when you received it, you can more than likely plead your case.
Each package through UPS I believe is guaranteed up to $250... don't quote me on that but that's how I remember it.
Definitely go through UPS, call them up and explain the situation. They will probably tell you "too bad" that's when you threaten you have pictures showing proof.
