AC DELETE question. read 50+ posts. not seen before
so i am converting my AC GTA to non ac. i got a non ac box from a friend with motor. i am planning on re-using my 4 spped resistor to continue to have 4 fan speeds. when i removed my AC fan housing everything came out. there was no "air funnel" on the fan. when i removed the NON-ac delete box it had a funnel for the air. does this go on the firewall, or on the fan. it does not seem to want to "snap" on anywhere. i think it will require gluing. it looks like it would go on the firewall, with the smaller side facing the inside of the heatrer box (toward engine). here is a picture of the item in question.

i don't remember seeing that piece at all when i put in my non-a/c box into my car
i guarantee the firewall had nothing on it when i installed that box.

yes, your factory AC car would not have had anything on it. this came from the same factory NON A/C Camaro as the box. this part DID NOT come off of my factory AC GTA.
after looking at the two fans, it appears the AC fan is wider as well as deeper. this piece appears to be a "funnel" of sorts. so that the smaller in diamiter NON-AC fan can mate up to the hole in the firewall (since the firewalls are the same for ac and non ac it would make sence to need an adaptor) so that the fan pulled air from outside the box and not from inside the box.

i don't know....i would think that would create an air leak and not blow much but the first time i turned my blower on high i blew out dust out of the ducts and into my face, so it works good enough for me either way.

take that peice and toss it in the trash. It is not needed. If you want to continue to use your 4 speed motor then you will need to move it out away from the box about 1/2". The fan will hit the firewall. This thread describes how to do it
