Ground effects for 1987 T/A
Hey guys,
I am looking for the rocker panel ground effects for my 1987 T/A. I went to a local hot-rod shop here and they ordered some in from Classic Industries. They got me part #PT1552 ,which is the only one listed. These are not the right ones however, they fit flush with door and body, mine go right to the seam where the seal of the door goes and also underneath a bit to, kinda like a "U" shape. Does anybody know a supplier and part numer for these ground effects.

Sorry to bring this post back up again but I still haven't found an answer and I am going back to the shop again today and don't want to leave empty handed. I have tried searching on Google, but with some many hits it is like finding a needle in a haystack, so if someone can just let me know it would be much appreciated.

maybe if you posted a couple pictures of the ground effects you have and the one you got from CI someone could help out. Your description is good...but not good enough.

Not trying to insult your intelligence, just wanna make sure here, but did you make sure that part number was the right one for your car? Did they possibly get the wrong part in? Even if it was ordered correctly, maybe they just shipped the wrong one...its happened. Just thought Id ask.

Well I didn't get in to the shop today, worked some OT instead. But I did take some picture. I checked the part against the one on CIs website and it looks similar, and its got a tag on it that says 82-92, so I have to assume it is correct. Anyways here is a picture of what I got, notice how they are pretty narrow (there is 2 taped together there)

And this is what I have, notice how they come off the door a bit, and of course they go under a bit but I didn't want to take a picture of the bottom. I have been looking on CIs website and it almost looks like the ones I need are from a Camaro, but these are factory installed and I highly doubt they would do that. Hope this helps.

Thanks deadbird. I looked at the drawing and it looks like I need #4, it appears CI doesn't sell a direct replacement for it, just a general one. Now one quick question, I am assuming that it gives the GM Part# but how do I enter it in GM Parts direct website, it seems I have tried every combonation of the numbers 0410035785 or 5786 and I can't seem to get it right, I know I am pretty bad with computers but this is driving me crazy.

That's actually 0.4 10035785.
0.4 is body shop estimated time in hours for R&R.
10035785 is the OEM GM part number you need to enter.

Theres only a few ground effects that came on 3rd gens and for the 87 you should have this kind:

Sounds like the shop sent you these

These are the 91-92 which you SHOULDNT have on an 87

These sets have to be a matching rocker/door set and do not interchange (visible differences)
