at a crossroads

Hello Everyone...

within the last 3 years i have spent alot of money on my 91z as has everyone probably...but recently as of last year it was hit with a moving van...and put a cut in the passenger side rear quarter panel as well as cracked my tail light....right after i put a 3800 dollar paint job on it in the fall of 2003....however not only having that happen i also found some rust on the t-top bar as well.....just another problem to add to my mess....anyone have any suggestions on what i should do...sometimes i feel like selling it but knowing i need front brakes, a headliner, and a few other odds and ends i know i would not get much for it....including what i paid for it i have 13,000 in this car.....anyways i would appreciate it if you guys can take a look at some of the links to the pics and tell me what you think....

thanks brett

hey, sorry to hear about what happenned, my car was hit while parked about a year ago, and it is still a work in progress.
but, since youve put so much money into this, fix it! it shouldnt be hard to do it all yourself. just sand the rust area and hit it with some POR-15, then weld up your quarter and repaint it.
now if someone else hit you, why didnt they pay for it?

Exactly.

About the t-top, I would sand blast it since that would work best. Or you can try sanding it with a brick type sanding block. Then POR-15 it.

Uh... was that quarter panel replaced? They don't normally crack like that. Looks like someone put a new one on there!

it is the original panel however how it got that way was from a sharp edge on a moving trailer's bumper.....but it is the original panel....

POR-15 is an anti rust agent type coating. its bassicly a paint that protects your car from moisture.
its pretty cheap, try looking for it on eastwood.com
