PRICE FOR COMFORT???
well heres the scoop gotta 83-z/28 , just put in new 350 , rebuilt 700r4 shift kit ,shifter, new headers and exhuast, everything, EXCEPT some new interior, thats next, went to a shop, and i want everything in black and red tweed, nothing really custom just covering everything basically, frineds 67 has this done looks sweet, he quoted me around $1800-$2000, thought it was a lil pricey but wanted to check here first? so good deal or should i look around at other shops?

I wouldn't pay that, it might be worth it (others will chime in on that) but I would get multiple quotes on that.

Well replacing a whole interior or changing colors is gonna run you at least 500-1000 and thats going back to stock with the exception of maybe seats.
Whats he gonna do with the seats? Completely recovering like seats/headliner/new carpet and all the plastics is prolly worth that much especally if its professional stuff.

If you're prepared to drop that kind of cash, I'd talk to people about other fabric options. Tweed was neat 15 years ago, but now it's just dated and old.

ya im planning on having whole interior changed form the nasty tan it is now to some kind of black i laid black carpet in last year, so new carpet not a need, but i dunno i like tweed, the solid black, no when other colors are with it, but ill give other fabrics a glance over too, i am prepared to drop some cash on this so i guess other options wouldnt be a bad idea? any one got any suggestions?

Well, I got quoted something very similar for basically the same deal here in south florida too. he wanted about $1500 to a custom interior scheme and cover the sail panels, visors, and kick panel pieces...as well as any other little detail coverings there may be. Im still debating if I want to spend that much recovering in cloth, custom or not, or spend it on upgraded leather interior. But to answer your question, the price sounds about right...wouldnt hurt to get other estimates though. Just be prepared to get what you pay for. I lean more toward who is recommended in the community than who is cheaper. You gotta at least be able to see some of his work before committing $1000, even if it is 800 cheaper...
