Micro Antenna anyone install one feedback?
Micro Antenna anyone install one feedback?
I am thinking about pulling off the electric antenna off my camaro and installing one of these micro antennas

My electric antenna is not working and I think that having a small antenna would look better and stand out too much.
Has anyone bought one tried one, or recommend a different one?

Currently in the same situation, I've used the solid rubber antenna and it works well, only thing I would suggest is don't purchase the one that unscews from its base as the threads are not long lasting. Eventually I would suggest rebuilding the original.
Yeah I am just trying to picture it. The original ones cost too much like $160. Here is one on EBay for $20 sounds way cheap?

I don't know what to do. I am not sure what is wrong with mine but I will find out once I strip the car.

I shaved my antenna off. I hate how it breaks up the lines on the front fender. I unscrewed it and then rerouted it under the dash pad. Welded up the hole and bondo-ed over it. It looks really clean. Something to think about.

I agree with BlackBetty. Why not just get one of those antennaes that you can put right above your rear view mirror on the inside of your car. It's really small. A friend of mine has it. His car looks sharp with the antannae shaved.

See, its the exact opposite for me. If you can hear/feel the engine, the stereo isnt loud enough. Garunteed I'll be deaf by 30.

What about maybe shaving it and just putting it in the fender not sure if there is room for it to sit in there.. but food for thought... instead of laying it up like "|" straight up and down maybe a "______" undernearth the fender you know? then you get the reception, the smooth looking fender.. and you dont have to spend the money on a new antenna also if you need a new windshield i know they can put the antenna inbetween the glass... my buddies dad has that looks great.. can't even notice it.. its so high up on the glass... could get pricey though... being a custom windshield.
